Dutch fighter Alistar Overeem (mma record: 23-6-0) is semi-offically rumored/announced as possible match-up for Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic for the first round of Pride FC Open Weight Grand Prix Tournament which will take place in Osaka, Japan on 5th of May.
Funny thing is that Overeem last opponent was also croatian fighter - Sanjin Kadunc. Their fight was held in Manchester, UK on March 18th - and Overeem won by armbar after only 1:42 min of the 1st round.

The foot injury is still giving Mirko a hard time. He can't train as he should to but he's doing the best he can to prepare himself for the opening round. Of course, the foot seems to be better then a month ago, but the problems are still there.
Now it seems that this injury is way serious then we thought. First problems appeared in May 2005, while the injury got really worse during the fight against Hunt. After 3 months of a recovery the foot is still not at 100% so Mirko isn't able to deliver big kicks with it. One good thing is that Mirko is really motivated to make a big comeback, as he feels he owe much to his fans

Today is the last day for applications for Zagreb Open 3, this submission wrestling tournament under Stipe Pavičić and Zlatko Klarić of UFK Tresnjevka organization will take place on 8th of April in Dugave, Zagreb (Fran Galović School Hall)
There will be 4 weight divisions (-75kg, -84kg, -93kg & +93kg) under NAGA (North American Grappling Association) submission wrestling rules.
