Jordan Brand Announces Off-White™ x Air Jordan 4 "Bred" Not Releasing
When the late Virgil Abloh‘s first solo exhibition “FIGURES OF SPEECH” opened back in 2019, sneakerheads got extremely excited for a display of unreleased Off-White™ x Nike/Jordan Brand sneakers. Included in the mix was an Off-White™ x Air Jordan 4 in a familiar “Bred” colorway.
Despite a series of release rumors, the shoe is now confirmed to be not officially releasing. A spokesperson for Jordan Brand recently told media that the Off-White™ x Air Jordan 4 “Bred” was simply produced as a sample prototype. These 5 Classic Jordans Are All Making a Comeback in 2022
When Nike approached Michael Jordan with the idea of creating a signature shoe back in the early '80s, neither of them knew at the time that they were about to embark in an era-defining journey that would span thousands of sneakers across multiple decades. Regarded by many sneakerheads as the most iconic partnership that the industry has and will ever see, legendary designers Bruce Kilgore, Peter Moore, and Tinker Hatfield would work with His Airness for almost forty years to create the perfect portfolio of pairs.
Along the way, some absolutely breathtaking sneakers have released, and as we begin a new year The Sole Supplier are here to tell your which five classic Air Jordans will be making a comeback in 2022. From the AJ4 all the way to the AJ7 you definitely do not want to miss any of these, so make sure you keep it locked right here for your best chance to cop!
Air Jordan 3 "Fire Red"
To kick things off, the Air Jordan 3 "Fire Red" is rumoured to be getting a pretty major re-release this year. First introduced in 1988, the last time that this particular colourway was retro'ed was back in 2013 when it sold out in an instant. With crisp white leather panelling, dark elephant print detailing, and striking red accenting along the ankle and Air midsole, this is just one of those Air Jordan 3s that every serious sneakerhead needs in their collection.
Air Jordan 4 "Military Blue"
The rumour that the Air Jordan 4 "Military Blue" will be returning has been making rounds for over a year now, but our sources tell us that they'll definitely be getting a triumphant return in 2022. A colourway that needs no introduction, it made its first appearance in 1989 and quickly became one of the most sought-after Air Jordan 4s in Jordan Brand's almost four decade long history. While these did get retro'ed in 2006 and 2012, we're told that 2022's version will feature the OG "Nike" heel badge rather than the Jumpman.
Air Jordan 5 "Green Bean"
Well, this was certainly unexpected. Apparently set to drop as part of the Jordan Brand Summer 2022 Retro collection, it looks like the Air Jordan 5 "Green Bean" from 2006 will also be making a comeback too. With that said, rumour has it that this Air Jordan 5 will be renamed to the "Casserole" after the dish that Deloris Jordan used to make Michael after his basketball games. This sounds pretty random, we know, but we'll see what happens.
Air Jordan 7 "Citrus"
Yet another retro from 2006, the Air Jordan 7 "Citrus" will apparently be returning in 2022 some sixteen years after it originally launched. While its design is pretty understated especially when you compare it to what we've seen so far, when you take a closer look you'll see that there's more than meets the eye. Along the all-black suede you'll find contrast orange stitching that immediately catches the eye. This, coupled with fiery red accents on the tongue and heel, and you've got a sure winner.
Air Jordan 7 "Raptors"
And last but not least, the Air Jordan 7 "Raptors" is returning in 2022. Celebrating exactly thirty years since this legendary colourway made its debut, this was originally called the "Dark Charcoal" back in the day. With that said, when the the Toronto Raptors entered the leagues in 1995 it was renamed as a homage. Done up in the team's signature colour palette, this is a sneaker that every serious sneakerhead needs in the vault.
