It is known that traveling between the nucleus and cytoplasm molecules pass through protein complexes called nuclear pores. Marking the molecule of messenger RNA in yellow fluorescent protein, and nuclear pores - the red, the researchers used high-speed video camera to capture as mRNA molecules pass through these pores. In an article in Nature describes the dynamics and surprising mechanism by which nuclear pores "move" the molecule of messenger RNA from the nucleus to the cytoplasm: the scientists first saw the transport through the nuclear pores of living cells in real time.
