DEFETIZAM - Hamlet, Penguin Books, this edition first published in Penguin Books1980...Commentary II,2- 181-2 For if... carrion (possibly spoken from the book Hamlet is carrying) 182 a good kissing carrion. The phrase is difficult: the carrion is good for kissing, as the sun shines on a dead dog and breeds maggots in it. Hamlet is deliberately indulging in mad-talk; but there is generally method in it (line 206), and it is not easy to see point here. Eighteen-century editors emended good to 'god' (the sun-god Apollo), with great probability. Perhaps Hamlet is obscurely saying 'Honesty is rare in this world, which is so corrupt that even sun sun produces nothing but maggots in shining upon carion'. MISFIRED JESUS Matej 5, 45 -'kako bi ste postali sinovi Oca nebeskoga, koji čini da njegovo sunce izlazi nad zlima i dobrima...'

'the book Hamlet is carrying' - "Other insects are not derived from living parentage, but are generated spontaneously: some out of dew falling on leaves, ordinarily in spring-time, but not seldom in winter when there has been a stretch of fair weather and southerly winds; others grow in decaying mud or dung; others in timber, green or dry; some in the hair of animals; some in the flesh of animals; some in excrements: and some from excrement after it has been voided, and some from excrement yet within the living animal, like the helminthes or intestinal worms." 551a1-10 - Aristotle, History of Animals (ovo je kopipejst)

Hamlet, Lektira dostupna svima, Zagreb 1996. prijevod Dr. Josip Torbarina Bilješke, stranica 150... II,2 Str. 64 ... vi ste ribotržac. 'Ribotržac' (fishmonger) bio je eufemizam za svodnika.
Str. 64 ... ...ta je strvina vrijedna cijeljivanja. To je doslovan prijevod engleskog 'a good kissing carrion'. W. Warburton je bez potrebe to 'emendirao' u 'god kissing carrion', što su stariji urednici i prevoditelji prihvatili. Tako i u Bogdanovićevu prijevodu to glasi 'božanstvo koje cjeliva strvinu'.
