Why Dell 1555 Battery life of short duration?

Q:It's only been a year since I bought my Dell 1555 Laptop and already the battery meter shows that I have to get a new battery. Even when fully charged the battery only goes on for only about an hour and a half. Is this normal? Is there some setting I have to change. Any advice is welcome. A: Dell Studio 1555 laptop battery (or any rechargeable battery) only has so many charges in its lifetime. So the best advice is to keep the laptop plugged in to AC power as much as possible (and avoid constantly recharging it). That said, 90 minutes of charge time after a year on a 15" laptop does not sound THAT bad. If it's still under warranty you can call Dell and see if they might replace it. Otherwise try draining it all the way a few times before recharging it. If you invest in a new Dell Studio 1555 Battery, consider the 9-cell. It has a bump on the bottom that might irritate some people but it's not a bad thing because it lifts the bottom up a bit and helps with the ventilation. We should be keep a good attitude when using the laptop to and treat it as our friends, as partners ,it need to be carefully protected, so any time you will take care of it, according to the method described above, I believe your laptop must be able to live longer . |
