What is DJ?
* Disc jockey (also called disk jockey, DJ, or deejay) is an individual who selects and plays prerecorded music for an intended audience. The term was first used to describe radio announcers who would introduce and play popular gramophone records, but today there are a number of factors, including the selected music, the intended audience, the performance setting, the preferred medium, and the development of sound manipulation, that have led to different types of deejays. Here it is - your chance to play a vital role in deciding the outcome of the most important poll in dance music.
DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs Poll is taken so seriously by clubbers, promoters and DJs worldwide for one reason - because it is a 100% public vote.
You can vote for any DJ, from the guy in your local bar to the big international superstars, meaning there is no better measure of which DJs are most popular on dancefloors across the globe.
Rank the DJs who've impressed you the most over the last year.
Rules:
- You have a totally free choice of which DJs to vote for, but may only vote for each DJ once.
- A points system means that the DJ you place in no.1 position gains five points, no.2, four points, etc., so choose wisely.
- You must provide a VALID email address for your vote to count.
- Multiple votes are cheating and will automatically be discounted.
- Voting closes on 25th September. Results announced at a glittering party in London on 24th October.
