Third Order High Pass Filter
- The term Third Order designates persons who live according to the Third Rule of a Roman Catholic religious order. Their members, known as Tertiaries, are generally lay members of religious orders, i.e.
Third-order problems/decisions are those with genuine uncertainty, complexity, and dynamics. These are characterized with words like complex, irrevocable, ambiguous, high-risk, important, big, long term, subjective, or tacit.

NOTA: A Veneravel Ordem Terceira do Carmo (ou chamada Ordem dos Terceiros Carmelitas) e um ramo da Ordem do Carmo composto pelo grupo de membros leigos dos Carmelitas da Antiga Observancia, os quais encontram-se sempre unidos em comunhao espiritual e fraterna com os frades contemplativos e com as freiras de clausura da sua ordem religiosa. Este ramo baseia-se, por norma, no carisma carmelita primitivo da Antiga Observancia, ainda que partilhe a riqueza espiritual do ramo reformado por Santa Teresa de Avila e Sao Joao da Cruz. De acordo com a tradicao carmelita, Nossa Senhora anunciou-lhe: "Meu filho muito amado: eis o escapulario que sera o distintivo da minha Ordem. Aceita-o como um penhor de privilegio, que alcancei para ti e para todos os membros da Ordem do Carmo. Aquele que morrer vestido deste escapulario, estara livre do fogo do inferno". A partir dai, Sao Simao Sotck passou a difundir, com toda a sua dedicacao, esta piedosa devocao mariana pelo mundo inteiro, tendo inclusive sido ele o responsavel pelo estender das gracas do Escapulario aos leigos, e obtido, por parte da Rainha Celestial, especial proteccao na fundacao da Irmandade de Nossa Senhora do Carmo (no ano de 1251), acolhendo tambem os devotos leigos da comunidade e que passaram a participar dos grandes privilegios inerentes ao Escapulario.

The ‘Carmo Third Order Church’ - The term Third Order designates persons who live according to the Third Rule of a Roman Catholic religious order. Their members, known as Tertiaries, are generally lay members of religious orders, i.e. men and women who do not necessarily live in a religious community and yet can claim to wear the habit and participate in the good works of some great order. Members of these orders are called Tertiaries (Latin tertiarii, from tertius, third). The old monastic orders had attached to their abbeys confraternities of lay men and women, going back in some cases to the 8th century. The Confraternity Book of Durham is extant and embraces some 20,000 names in the course of eight centuries. Emperors and kings and the most illustrious men in church and state were commonly confraters of one or other of the great Benedictine abbeys. The confraters and consorors were made partakers in all the religious exercises and other good works of the community to which they were affiliated, and they were expected in return to protect and forward its interests; but they were not called upon to follow any special rule of life.
Sister of the Third Order of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration
The Congregation of the Sisters of the Third Order of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration, an American foundation, was established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1849. The founders were a group of Tertiaries of St. Francis who had emigrated from Bavaria for the purpose of helping the North American mission cause. The Community headquarters were successfully transferred to .... La Crosse ..... in 1871. Since that .... date, St. Rose Convent, La Crosse, has been the Motherhouse of the Sisterhood. After almost a quarter century of extreme hardship, the Community finally became stabilized, establishing itself in various forms of charitable and missionary work. In 1878, solemn perpetual adoration of the Blessed Sacrament was introduced.
