Silicon o rings. O ring application
- A gasket in the form of a ring with a circular cross section, typically made of pliable material, used to seal connections in pipes, tubes, etc
- An O-ring, also known as a packing, or a toric joint, is a mechanical gasket in the shape of a torus; it is a loop of elastomer with a disc-shaped cross-section, designed to be seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts, creating a seal at the interface.
- are generally used as dynamic seals for shafts and are available in many different sizes and materials.
- A small plastic piece, shaped like a donut, which is used to hold the arch wires in the brackets on your teeth.
Novagard G661 is an amorphous fumed silica thickened, polysiloxane based greaselike compound with excellent resistance to water and most chemicals. G661 is truly a general purpose compound as the material's unique dual nature of lubricity and sealing supports a long list of successful applications. Choose Novagard silicone compounds for lubrication of plastic and rubber parts, to provide a moisture barrier or seal with good dielectric properties, or as a non-corrosive protective coating. Under most circumstances, silicone-based products provide for a longer service life than many other materials currently available. G661 is widely used to seal and protect outdoor and underground electrical connectors by blocking moisture, dirt, insects, and air to prevent arcing and corrosion. G661 is used professionally by manufacturers in several major industries, but it's versatility also makes it ideal for many applications around the home. It is effective in preventing corrosion and rust on items such as battery terminals, trailer electrical connectors and hitch parts, as well as any metal exposed to rain or moisture or chemicals including threaded connections, hinges and pins, fasteners, slides, springs, cables, locks, etc. Unlike common petroleum greases, G661 does not get stiff in cold weather nor melt when hot, even in very harsh applications such as brake caliper pins and guides. And because it is safe on most plastics and rubber, it is used to lubricate and protect many common items such as spark plug boots, pool filter gaskets, hose gaskets, pressure washer connections, rubber boots and bushings on automobile drivetrains and suspensions, vacuum and enclosure seals, plastic gears, and more. For lubrication of metal to metal and select plastic parts, consider the Versilube line of greases for bearings, gears and other mechanisms under sliding and rolling friction conditions. Do not use in or around highly oxidative chemicals such as liquid oxygen or chlorine.

Quicksilver 1
My new QS1. One out of a 60 prototype run.
Machined aluminum. Dif-e-yo weight ring feature to bring the weight up to 72g, as well as outer machine stylings. Inside, silicone o-rings provide snappy response while providing a gradual "wear in" factor. A standard large sized bearing is used to ensure a wide gap and compatibility with other top players. Comes with red 3x3 and plays super smooth.
Like, Square, Daddy-O! - 1
Ring made from a fragment of a cast-iron grille which one of my students gave to me, having found it in the street.
I've set it with a square golden-yellow CZ.
I left the edge of the setting deliberately with the hammer-marks to complement the pitted steel. I was going to get a little silicon polishing wheel in there, but decided against it.
silicon o rings
This silicone O-ring is red in color, round in shape, has a durometer of 7OA, and is designed for use in a wide variety of sealing applications.
Silicone is acceptable for temperature applications between -65 degrees F (-54 degrees C) to 450 degrees F (232 degrees C). It has good resistance to ozone, weather, detergent, salt water, engine and transmission oil, non-petroleum brake fluid, hydraulic fluids that resist fire, vegetable and animal oils, and high molecular weight chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbons. Silicone is vulnerable to mechanical wear and tear, water and steam over 250 degrees F (121 degrees C), aromatic hydrocarbons (benzene), chlorinated hydrocarbons (trichloroethylene), acids and bases, and hydrocarbon fuels.
O-rings commonly provide a pressure and fluid seal between cylindrically shaped, overlapping mating surfaces and are commonly seen in engines, faucets, flanges, valves, and various cylinders. They are circular in shape, with a round cross section and a hole in the center, similar to a doughnut. O-rings are available in a number of sizes, and can be ordered based on required nominal inside diameter (ID), outer diameter (OD), and cross-sectional (CS) diameter.
This silicone O-ring has a shore durometer of 70A. Shore durometer is the hardness of a material, and its resistance to permanent indentation. A higher durometer value indicates greater resistance to indentation on a scale of 0 to 100, with 100 indicating no indentation.
This silicone O-ring meets standards defined by Aerospace Standard AS568A, which is the Aerospace Size Standard for O-rings.
