We'd been biking so long, I'd become sort of numb to speed and motion -- and unmindful of the danger involved. Instantly, my foot got sucked into the spokes, and followed the spinning wheel about half a revolution. When it came around the top and hit the fork, everything stopped. Or rather, the front wheel stopped. The back of the bike (with me on it) pitched up, and with all my forward / downhill momentum, swung on the axis of the front wheel. I slammed headfirst into the ground, with my bike ontop of me.
