Hello Flickr friends! Wow, not being able to log in to Flickr for 4 days seems like forever!

My wife and I went to the butterfly house in Sweetbriar Nature Center Last Thursday. I thought it was free but I had to pay 3 dollars for each of us so I made sure I went out with plenty of shots. lol! (yes, I'm cheap sometimes!)

On Friday, I met up with iamchrisjett and his two kids, Joshua and Laura at Nissequogue River State Park.

I'm in a bind and maybe you folks can help me decide... I need to buy a new body in the next few months. Since this purchase will be for generating income, I'm getting a semi-pro body. It'll be a purchase that will last me a couple of years (but I'll still get a second body if everything works out), so I have to make sure it won't get obsolete very soon.

I'm considering the D300 this November. In as much as I don't like buying that early in the game (I'm definitely sure I'm paying at least $300 in premium for being an early adapter with a few bugs to fix {remember the iphone?}), waiting a few months more for the frenzy to subside would be counterproductive to what I want to acheive in the next few months. I guess the D200 is an alternative, but with the small price difference between it and the D300 (Yes, I find that a small difference! lol), I don't think it is the best idea.

No, I'm not considering buying a refurbished or used camera this time. My D50 was bought refurbished and even though I never really had problems with it, I had a few scares and I don't want that to happen to a more expensive body. It has to be reliable with a complete warranty.

I shot 5 different photos to create an HDR image. Before doing that, I played with tint and temperature controls in Camera Raw to obtain variation in colors.
This is the result of one of my experiments.

The Athens Olympic Sports Complex is the central group of facilities built for the 2004 Summer Olympics. The complex has been revamped for the games under a design by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. It is located in Marousi, in the north-east part of Athens, and consists of five different venues: the Olympic Indoor Hall; the Athens Olympic Aquatic Centre; the Athens Olympic Tennis Centre; the Athens Olympic Velodrome and the Olympic Stadium. The latter was originally built in 1982 and was extensively refurbished for the 2004 games, including the addition of a roof.
