Snoopers: Webster's Timeline History, 1886 - 2007

Webster's bibliographic and event-based timelines are comprehensive in scope, covering virtually all topics, geographic locations and people. They do so from a linguistic point of view, and in the case of this book, the focus is on "Snoopers," including when used in literature (e.g. all authors that might have Snoopers in their name). As such, this book represents the largest compilation of timeline events associated with Snoopers when it is used in proper noun form. Webster's timelines cover bibliographic citations, patented inventions, as well as non-conventional and alternative meanings which capture ambiguities in usage. These furthermore cover all parts of speech (possessive, institutional usage, geographic usage) and contexts, including pop culture, the arts, social sciences (linguistics, history, geography, economics, sociology, political science), business, computer science, literature, law, medicine, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and other physical sciences. This "data dump" results in a comprehensive set of entries for a bibliographic and/or event-based timeline on the proper name Snoopers, since editorial decisions to include or exclude events is purely a linguistic process. The resulting entries are used under license or with permission, used under "fair use" conditions, used in agreement with the original authors, or are in the public domain.

SB-24 'Snooper' Liberator 868th Bomb Squadron 43rd Bomb Group 13th Air Force

SB-24 Consolidated Liberator s/n 42-40832. Not much history on this particular aircraft available.

Radar equipped Liberator, with an extra crew member to serve as radar operator. In the Pacific, they are used for low-level attacks and shipping strikes at night, and for pathfinder operations. the 13th AF activated the 868th ‘Snooper Squadron’ flying SB-24 on January 1, 1944.

What makes this squadron unique is that they operated “SB-24s” (an unofficial designation) that were equipped with blind-flying equipment consisting of the SCR-717 10-centimeter Sea Search Radar, the SCR-729 Aircraft Radar Beacon (aka “Rebecca IIA”) and a number of other devices including an absolute altimeter, a radar scope and a bomb-release mechanism. The mission was for low level, anti-shipping strikes under the cover of darkness. They had this capability because the radar-sighting devices permitted operation of the bomb-release mechanism irrespective of visual sighting of the target.

My best friend as a child, my guinea pig. My third grade teacher, Miss Meyers had a class guinea pig that had babies and she let me adopt one.

He was rarely in his cage, as I had him with me so much of the time. Until he got old and didn't enjoy a lot of activity. He was the best friend I could have asked for!
