Shut out of the Mercer by the Tony awards, I took a friends recommendation to stay at this discrete (no shingle) little place off Times Square called the Room Mate Grace (previously the Hotel QT). The rooms are tiny but well-stocked, with really cold air conditioning, an awesome bed, and what's got to be New York's best lobby bar—all for (relatively) cheap (under $300). I may have to start cheating on my pimp.
