(and i apologise for the terrible surfacing of ghetto slang, i've been listening to rap constantly for the last twenty-four hours, and i'm afraid my language might be slipping. bahahahahahahahahah.)
regardless, this was in ... march, i think, yes, march, and this hodgepodge group of people won first place at nationals! it was one of the best days of my life; the irony still kills me, as it was for knowledge of the american constitution and political makeup/history.
as cliche as it sounds, not a single person at that tournament thought we would even place, seeing as...well, we aren't exactly professional material. bahahahhahha.
breaking it down into useless stereotypes here, we were: (in oder of the photo) the indie, the flamboyant homosexual, the hell-child, the stoner, the conservative and the driven one, in that order in the photo. bahahahahhaha.
we actually went around the tournament in DC singing songs from musicals and spencer (the one with his tongue out) and i actually had the most epic fake sword fight known to mankind all along the corridors, whilst all the stuffy blokes in ties and three-piece suits looked at us with award-worthy sneers.
bahahahah, but before the competition, we had to prepare for, literally, a term, and we never had any of our cases finished on time, our meetings (which got to be everynight, for three goddamn hours) consisted mainly of sex jokes, insults, hysterical laughter and cheese. (don't ask about that last one; we all had a mad fetish for it. :/)
but, let me tell you, when we finally pulled it together, we were fucking on fire.
our professor had a lady come in who was on the board of directors for this thing, and she had us read our cases and our evidence and she said, i swear, i'll never forget this, "by god. you guys are good."
bahahahahahahahaahahah.
and we won, even though no-one thought we would, kez (prof.), when we had given our first speech at the tournament, jumped up and screamed, "THAT'S HOW TO DO IT! THAT'S HOW YOU WILL GODDAMN WIN!"

omg. o.0 there was this one second, this one trivial, HINGING second where we were stumped, and i just thought, "fuck it." and i started speaking. out came all this rubbish (true and accurate rubbish, mind you) about george washington and the revolution and alexander hamilton, moving down until the stock market break on black friday, and on into WWII, and fucksake, i had no idea where all this was coming from, but mariah keep squeezing my leg under the table and whispering "keep going!!! fucking keep going!" and i glanced over once and kez was (hes a bit odd, mind.) sitting on his seat, but bouncing up and down and smiling and mouthing, "yes!" to me, and wheeeeeeeeew, man. it was so exhilarating.
that course was heavy difficult to get into, and i'm so glad i did.
winning is fantastic, i think i'm addicted to it. ;)

"Winter Gala Performance"
Usual Sunday. Had confirmation in the morning, went to church with friends, ate out with family, and went home.
So, I was invited to perform at this Winter Gala at the Pechanga Casino, and I was just freaking out. My cousin ended up driving me all the way to Temecula, just because my parents were being laggards. I got to Pechanga, and I looked like a lost girl, holding her high heels, and running all over the place to the venue. I was confused with the conference rooms, since all I know the gala would be at the Bear Room, but then I found out the performers had to check in in the Deer Room. Anyways, I got to the correct room, got my hair and makeup done, did some vocals, and did a run through. You can say I did alright during my performance, since I was barely prepared. Oh, and I sang Forget You! After all that mayhem, the performers got their on table, and I was the youngest. Oh, and did I mention. I FORGOT MY DAM MEMORY CARD FOR THE MILLIONTH TIME, but cameras weren't allowed, and they were confiscated once you got in the room. They did that since professional photographers were at the gala, but you have to pay when you get your picture taken. I got really tired around 11, and made my cousin get a hotel room for me. I secretly brought some pastries from the gala to my hotel room, and had a whole feast to myself. The picture up there was my favorite one, and I didn't want to eat it because it was too pretty, so I took it home to take a picture of it. I have a feeling they got the pastries from Porto's too!
