BABY AT 9 WEEKS IN THE WOMB

Daddy-daughter bathtime! She's been super good at the whole taking a nap thing. I don't know if it's the heat that's making her dozy or if she's just getting better at it in general but she's going down super easy when it comes to nap time. She's still only napping for an hour or so but it's still a solid nap usually. Going to bed is also on the rise, now if only she'd stay there. Ah well, it'll come with time.

We seawalled it again this morning. 8km hard walking. I'm a little frustrated though. Stupid fat thighs rubbing together and getting all chafe-y. I also gave her a bottle of water after her formula bottle this morning. She drank maybe a half ounce of it before being all "Blech what is this crap?", better than nothing I suppose.

It's becoming more obvious that I need to do some specific skin bits tanning as you can see where my tank tops are covering on my back there. I'm going to have to selectively suntan lotion and then wander around shirtless and try and even that out. I'm planning on going to Wreck one of these days and hopefully that will help out. We'll see.

The psych people called again from UBC saying they were interested in Isobel joining their study again so we're going to head up to the Endowment lands next Tuesday. I'm sure Brandi will be keen if she gets another shirt and degree thingy.

UPS called as well. It looks like the Utilikilt people might have put the wrong address on my parcel. When the chick called today to be all "We need your buzzer number" she read my apartment number as the building. I'm to call them tomorrow and confirm things. I suspect this means I'll be chilling all day at home tomorrow waiting for my package. Probably a good thing if my leg is still all chafed.

We went to the beach today as well for like 45 minutes. Hung out with Angel a bit before heading off to Park Royal for some purchases. Angel needed to get some batteries for her camera and I picked up a mini laptop for offloading photos when we go on holiday. In addition I can bring it to gaming on Bloodbowl nights or whatever. It was pretty cheap and the guy was appalled that I didn't want the warranty.

Isobel also had her first taste of mashed potatoes. Admittedly they were the cafeteria type mashed potatoes but it was another new taste. I also put a little bit of gravy on them so a bit of new protein as well. She ate a lot as well as a whole jar of squash. I think her eyes might have been bigger than her stomach though as she puked a bunch of times between dinner and bathtime.

Now she's down and not making noise but she was getting quite verbose about not wanting to go to sleep. Since she's become an amateur crawler she crawled to the head of the crib and started trying to claw down the crib liner while screaming. She's so tired though and she went to bed fairly quickly.

59bf of figured maple I got on sale at Rockler. This pile has been blocking my workbench for a couple months now. This is for the crib I'm going to build using the plans from the November 2006 issue of Wood magazine. It's a modular system that makes a crib, toddler bed, & full sized bed.
