Fifteen Kids and An Old Blind Horse



This is a story of a large family that lived in a small three-room house on a wooded hill farm located in rural Scioto County, Ohio, during the early part of the twentieth century. Vivid episodes are portrayed to depict their quest in acquiring the bare necessities of life, and how this endeavor consumed most of their time and energy. In the midst of this pursuit, poignant scenes are dramatized to illustrate how their lives were impacted by the frequency of disease and death. Beyond this local environment, we become acquainted with episodes that detail the influence of spiritual values, along with cultural and educational mores that were indicative to that setting. Later on, the community as a whole is visited to offer a picturesque setting that was the backdrop to the life and times of the people who populated this small neighborhood in southern Ohio during the first part of our last century.
