Minor work rant

We have an IT support database for a reason. The REASON IS TO USE IT!If you don't use it, we can't know there is a problem. If we don't know there is a problem, we can't fix it.So going and complaining that X and Y hasn't been fixed is really not a way to get into our good books.Assclowns.Still, gives an excuse to show my new angry icon.

Black Books S3 E1:

So... where to start.We arrived at the studio relatively early, got quite close to the front of the queue. Double-took a number of times at people who looked like Matt and Zeke respectively, and then got let into the audience hospitality suite. Which looked suspiciously like a cafeteria, complete with small serving hatch, selling crisps, bottles of coke and the occasional mars bar. Due to the studiotastic nature of the place, we had to be escorted to the toilets, which did mean we got to see the set of.... KILROY. starstruck? not in the slightest.After bumping into one or two people who I didn't expect to see there, we were let into the studio, the warm up man came on, and was pretty funny, kept the audience going... then we were introduced to Mr Dylan Moran (who is either really like Bernard, or believes in staying in character whilst in studio), then Bill Bailey, Tamsin Greig....And special Guest star...MR SIMON PEGG!So, the plot.Time has passed.... Fran has been on holiday in one of Britains more rural traps, and returns to the shop to find chaos. That is... more chaos than normal. The shop is a wreck. That is, more of a wreck than usual. Manny is gone (but he still lives there), and Bernard has discovered television. His favorite program sees a group of bright eyed youngsters battling for a job in a NCP car park, but at the end, only one of them can take it. It is revealed that after an 'accident' where Bernard introduced Mannys hand to a sandwich toaster, he quit, and went next door, to work, as is revealed by removing a brick in the wall, at Goliath Books *hiss*. Manny spends his days eating muffins and scaring customers with his attempts to be helpful, whilst his scary manager (Pegg) attempts to brainwash him into becoming part of the pastal coloured 'team'. The majority of the episode switches between Bernards continued fall into ill health, and Manny attempting to resist the brainwashing whilst Fran tries to reunite the two so she has people to spend time with. Needless to say at the end of the day, the evil Goliath Books manager is vanquished after an attempt to cut Mannys hair, Manny and Bernard are reunited, and all ends well for Black Books.The 25min episode took 3hrs to film, with about 5mins on film inserts. There were some brilliant cockups and errors, and at least one live hermit crab involved in the events. Pegg, in a complete departure from Spaced, played a highly scary control freak individual who wanted to make everyone in his image, and minus the peroxide hair of Tim, looked his age, or possibly older. There was quite a degree of adlibbing, general buggering around, and Bailey and Moran joining the 'audience fluffer' to read us general cooking tips from one of the books available in the shop. Tamsin told us that Black Books was about to begin broadcast in Belgium (as 'the crazy shop') and at least one prop completely broke.As the opening episode, this came across very strong, and the character interactions were brilliant. I look forward to seeing this in its complete form, as well as the rest of the series some time in the new year. Also this will hopefully be paired with the release of season 2 on DVD. I wish i could get tickets to some of the other recording sessions for this series, but seeing the first episode being recorded was great and thanks to the antics of the cast and crew laughing at the same scene over and over was not a problem in the slightest.

Deadly revenge type thing...

One of the teachers came over whinging his new password wasn't working, so i checked, and the twat had typed it wrong so many times that it had locked him out... whilst he wasn't looking, i unlocked it, and told him to try logging on. 'lo it worked. he sat there looking rather sheepish...This is the guy thats the reason i've spent all day resetting 200+ passwords, choosing a new one, and then sending a memo to ever staff member with their new password...I've locked his account again, full in the knowledge it'll mean he has to walk all the way back over here...that'll teach the fucker.

So... 40 years eh?Happy Birthday Doctor. 40 years ain't bad for a wobbly-set ridden poorly budgeted TV series. Proof positive that the power of the imagination conquers all.To 'Celebrate' we're having a Who day.1 story from each Doctor, now playing 'Death to the Daleks'. Next up after that 'City of Death'.Lalla Ward in a schoolgirls outfit. Mmmmm....
