Evo nije me bilo duze pa...
Prije par dana zatvorili su mi moj Virgin Megastore na Sunset Blvd-u, sto je definitivan poraz glazbene industrije, jel prije samo godinu dana zatvorili su sve Tower Recordse. Sada nam ne preostaje nego da kupujemo u used cd storovima ili na iTunes.
Svi koji me znaju, znaju koliko sam volio raditi tamo, koga sam sve vidio i kakvih prica sam se naslusao u tih 2 godine. Wow. Definitivno jedan od najboljih poslova sto sam ikada do sada imao. Sigurno vise, znacajnije i jace od samo College joba.
Nova vremena, nova era, web 2.0, pirate bay...
Jednoga dana pricati cu dijeci kako sam radio u record store-u, a oni ce se cuditi da li je to moguce, vjerovatno ce misliti kako je to najgluplja ideja ikada, zamisli, voziti se 20 minuta do shopa da bi poslusao najnovije izdanje prije no sto ga kupis? To je sto kao sto se mi cudimo trgovinama koje popravljaju "bijelu tehniku", telefone ili tako. Definitivno kraj ere...ne postoji tower, jedan manje Virgin...nisu mogli placati rentu vise?? Kada su zatvorili Tower na Sunsetu (koji je pokraj mog Virgina bio jedan on najpoznatijih Storeova u Americi) na znaku ispred, na kojemu je obicno bila lista nadolazecih releasova, pisalo je "It's the End of The World as We Know it"...

Did you know that 224 different languages are spoken in Los Angeles? I didn't, until I read the L.A. Times story on the new Phraselator, a handheld translation device now being used by LAPD.
The Phraselator, enables officers to translate and broadcast thousands of prerecorded phrases in a multitude of languages.
The Phraselator doesn't attempt voice-to-voice translation. Instead, the LAPD's bilingual officers -- 32% of the 9,600-member force has some foreign language proficiency -- translate and load standard police commands and questions into the device's computer memory. The translations can be retrieved and broadcast by a simple English-language text or voice word search.
First of all, I want one of those. Second, 224 different languages? Heilige Kuh!
If you want to find out what language your neighbors are speaking, LAAlmanac breaks it down by 'hood for persons 5 years and over In the 2000 Census:
According to Professor Vyacheslav Ivanov of UCLA, there are at least 224 identified languages in Los Angeles County. This does not include differing dialects. Professor Ivanov estimates that publications are locally produced in about 180 of these languages.

Jordan i ja bili smo low key zato sto je bio utorak, ali smo navecer otisli u jedan ekskluzivni restoran zvan Mozza. Ekskluzivan po tome sto se otvorio prije jedno 6 mjeseci i ceka se na rezervaciju po mjesec dana. Zvijezde poput Ray Romana i takvih su tamo redovni, a sef je poznati Mario Batali koji rastura po NYC-u. U svim njegovim restoranima (ovo je prvi na zapadnoj obali) przi super indie rock muzika i to glasno kao u baru, a jedu se jela po $25 po tanjuru. Te noci svirao je Bowie cijelu noc, uz mrakan, talijansko vino i odlicnu klopu. Odlican sklop, pogotovo zato sto je i njemu te noci bio b-day. Cudni kombo, ali kombo koji radi. Definitivno cu tamo otici opet kada se ohrabrim planuti $100 za vecericu utorkom navecer. Ali jednom se slavi 27. zar ne?
U cetvrtak sam isto isao u downtown sa ING drugarima na pijanku u moje ime, a i ovog vikenda mi nesto spremaju. Eto to je to od novosti.

Evo nas u novoj godinici, wow 2008...
Za Novu sam Otisao u San Francisco na par dana i malo smo tamo partijali.
Highlight mi je bio izletic u Napa Valley gdje sam izmedu ostalih posijetio i Grgich vinariju. Grgicheva vina su podosta cijenjena na ovim prostorima, a podosta su i skupa (oko $65 po boci), pa je i mojim americkim drugovima bilo drago da smo tamo. Na ulazu, pored amerikanske zastave vije se i ogromna Hrvatska (da, slikao sam se ispred 
) sto je bio veliki pride, jel je vinarija na jednoj od najprometnijih vinskih cesta Nape.
Odlicna hrana, savrsena vina i dobro drustvo, tako sam vam proveo ulazak u novu godinu.
Sada sam natrag na poslu i sve blagdanske sheme (bozicni partiji, rani odlasci s posla, besplatni ruckovi i cestitke) su gotove.
Nadam se da ce mi 2oo8 biti barem jednako dobra kao i 2oo7, sto se tice financijske, fizicke i socijalne situacije. 
Idemo full force u 2008.
