A how-to or a how to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic.

Psalm 9:11 Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
We see right away that many of these verses on music don't always claim ownership to one particular aspect of Psalm 68:4.
In other words, this particular verse would also do well in the praise category as it does say to sing praises to the LORD.
It also states that we are to declare among the people his doings, and that can just as easily be done through rejoicing as we sing about his doings in our own private lives. But I will use this verse in a worship application.
Being told to sing praises to the LORD is even more specific than to his name, especially because it states which dwelleth in Zion.
This seems to be a very personal element of singing praises to the very person of God Himself wherein He dwelleth.
We should know, however, that the dwelling place of the Lord was different in the OT than it is for us NT Christians today.
We ought to know that the dwelling place of the Lord is within us, not 'around' us nor is He coming and going, as He did throughout the Old Testament.
Christ is in us and we are in Him. The Holy Spirit dwells within according to I Corinthians 6:19: What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
Among many other verses, we can see that Romans 8:9 says But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
Knowing that God dwells within us through Christ and the Holy Spirit and knowing that a person in the flesh can't do anything TO God or FOR God unless he is saved through the Holy Spirit and through Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me, then our praises & rejoicings can both easily be a worship time to Him directly.
We must then be careful that our music unto God, regardless of any performance, CD, tape, record, etc. is not to be music that is AFTER our flesh. Romans 8:5 For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.
God not only knows our heart, but God also hears our heart. See Colossians 3:16; Ephesians 5:19. So with that in mind, please note that in Psalm 68:4 we should be sure that ALL of our music, whether it be praising, extolling or rejoicing, is to be done in a manner that is true worship to Him directly. We are to sing praises TO HIS NAME, we are to extoll HIM personally and specifically and we are to rejoice BEFORE Him.
It is all to be very personal. We certainly don't need to drive the Lord away from our personal fellowship with Him by involving ourselves with music that appeals to our flesh and quenches the Spirit during these last days. Could this be one reason the Lord Jesus is knocking on the doors of the Christian, not for salvation, but for honest and clean fellowship with him. See Revelation 3:20

Psalm 13:6 I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me.
As is the case with many of the verses in this list, we will see the words unto the LORD, making this a personal one-on-one encounter with the Lord, not as a performance or a concert, nor is it just something we enjoy ourselves. Why? Because he hath dealt bountifully with me, we ought to be willing and wanting to thank Him personally - one-on-one - in preparation for our private face-to-face meeting some day!
As a person grows in all those areas that the Lord shows them - from doctrine to reproof; from correction to instruction in righteousness - we finally become more thankful for how bountifully God deals with us!
Instead of just praising and rejoicing because of Him, one tends to draw closer to Him through thanksgiving and worship. Unfortunately, the lack of thankfulness is becoming more prevalent in these days, as written in Romans 1:21 and II Timothy 3:2.
Remember, worship is to be directed to Jesus Christ Himself! John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. You can't be more specific than to extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH. Jesus Christ HAS to be God - or all of this is just another false religion led by a false savior!
As all the new modern bible versions continue to take out more and more of the deity, we can see music is doing the same thing within our own churches. It appears that 'worship music' is beginning to actually worship the antichrist instead of the real Christ. More on that thought later within this book.

Kate
This is Kate.
I wrote this back in high school. It's really kind of lame if you don't know her.
And if you do know her, it probably doesn't make much sense.
Aha but you should still read it.
I’ve known Kate my entire life, so I guess I know her pretty well. Kate has many phobias. She’s scared of most things actually, one being strangers that are possibly waiting under her car, equipped with knives, in which they could used to slice her Achilles tendon. She’s also terrified of large bodies of enclosed water. I wouldn’t recommend anyone ever taking her to go see the seals at a zoo. The tank would make her extremely uneasy. I never suggest watching any scary movie with Kate either; she’s more of a Harry Potter kind of gal.
Kate isn’t the kind of person who enjoys long walks on the beach or candlelit dinners. No, she actually would rather paint ceramics or travel to the nearest Starbuck’s for a nice cup a joe. Kate doesn’t like people who think they are better than everyone else, and let me tell you there are a lot of those kinds of people out there. She loves New York City. Probably because it’s cold and mysterious and there’s never a dull moment. Another thing Kate hates: dull moments, awkward moments, and repeated moments, so don’t ever tell her something twice. You’d think that Kate hates clean rooms too, since her room is rarely clean enough to walk into.
However Kate is a girl of many talents. She’s borderline ambidextrous, and can write upside down. Also her jaw clicks when she yawns, every time, without fail. Kate’s the only person I know that actually has unintentionally slipped on a banana peal. Kate can read an entire 300 or 400 page book in one weekend. She knows all the words to any Kings of Leon song or Ben Kweller song. Not to mention, among more normal talents, she plays guitar and piano and whistles pretty well.
Kate likes guys that are in bands, mainly the nerdy ones. In the band Kings of Leon, she adores the lead guitarist, Matthew Followill. She could spend hours listening to Kings of Leon, or looking at pictures of them, and never get bored. I understand that all these things I’m telling you are very random, but that’s how Kate is. Kate has a grandma named Hazel, but she calls her Midge, because she thinks it’s cool. Kate goes by many names; Mary-Lou, Frankie, Mrs. Followill (she wishes), Loser (in good fun). After high school, Kate wants to become a teacher like her mom, but when she was little she wanted to become a taxi driver. Kate drives a Honda Accord, it’s sort of pink, but she hates hearing that. Kate’s favorite color used to be green, but now it’s gray. People’s favorite colors say things about them. But not Kate because to her gray seems like kind of an anonymous color, and that’s why she likes it.
This one time she tripped over a bench and sent a Starbucks coffee flying all over. But she didn’t care; in fact, I recall her laughing about it. Kate doesn’t believe in karma. She also doesn’t care about the environment, because she spits out her gum wherever she chooses. The other day, she stepped on gum, coincidence? Few summer's ago we went to see Kings of Leon live at The Wiltern Theater, probably the most fun we’ve ever had. I guarantee that if they ever come back here, we will be there. If Kate’s ever in a bad mood, which isn’t very often, all she needs is Kings of Leon. There’s this line in a song by Ben Kweller called “Different But The Same” that says: “Your mother worries but no one worries quite like you”. That is Kate, one hundred percent. She’s the voice of reason in situations, so sometimes we call her “the mom”.
Kate and I sort of have an ESP thing going on. Most of the time I can tell what she’s thinking, and vice versa. And whenever we do say or think the same thing, we immediately claim it by saying “ESP”. Although we always have big discussions about marriage and moving in with people, and then we have very different opinions. Sometimes Kate’s somewhat of an “Ann Disaster”, but she’s hilarious, so you got to love her. I wish I could congratulate you now, because you think you know all about Kate Allen. But you have no idea. Trust me. As Kate would say, “Peace Out”.
