Carrom

Carrom

The Trump brand is very easy to find at the rink. No worries there. If someone stops you on 7th Avenue and says "The only thing I came to NYC to see is the Trump logo" just steer them right to the rink here in Central Park. They'll thank you later.

The ice is big, probably the size of about two regulation hockey rinks. But it's a slightly irregular shape. Resurfacing it takes a lot of time. Something like fifteen or twenty minutes, I reckon.

It's hard not to watch this for more than a minute or two without doing a Donald Trump impression in your head.

"Recreational ice sports is a twenty-two billyon dollah a year industry. And the brand new Trumpboni is the most sophisticated and high-quality resurfacing machine on the market. It's gonna be hoooooooge..."

We know the age of one of the boys, Gunter Wagner (14) who is in the second row, middle of the picture, and not wearing a uniform (one of the few in civilian dress). The boys seem to be almost equally divided between those who wear knee socks with their short trousers and those who wear the more conservative long stockings (probably with Strapsleibchen [i.e., German garter waists] or perhaps the more grown-up Strapslgurteln [garter belts similar to Hockey garters]).
