BEST ROAD BIKE PUMP : BEST ROAD
Best road bike pump : Thule car bike racks. Best Road Bike Pump
My Labor Day Weekend It started with a bike mishap on Friday -- this picture doesn't really do the road rash justice. A little patch of my left knee is skinned, but the whole knee is bruised and swolen. I also skinned my left elbow and bruised the heels of both my palms. A further ailment -- a bruised right arm, from trying to donate blood. I know, it sounds crazy, but I was on my way to the donation truck when I crashed, and I had enough adrenaline flowing that I didn't think think I was hurt that badly. Apparently my body thought differently, activating platelets and starting to coagulate blood in the needle before I could finish pumping out my pint. By Saturday I actually acknowledged that I was in pain and decided to take it easy -- I spent most of my day lounging around reading newspapers & magazines and snuggling with my poodles (Pip had a tendency to lay or lean on my bum knee, though --ow). Saturday evening I took the dogs to the dog park for the first time in a couple of months so they could get some exercise w/o further straining my knee. The city has drained the pond in the dog park so now it's just a huge mudpit. Guess who had no trouble jumping the snow fencing that was supposed to keep dogs out of the mud? She even enticed her brother to follow, so now I have two muddy dogs. The best I was able to do was to let the mud dry and then brush it out of their coats, since I have no intention of kneeling next to the bathtub to give them baths. Sunday we were supposed to go on a hike with a friend and her Irish Terrier puppy, but we decided to go to brunch instead. This turned out to be the highlight of the weekend -- Helene discovered an exceptionally dog-friendly brunch spot, the Choice City Butcher & Deli (d'oh, of course!). Dogs are not only allowed but welcomed -- there were large water bowls everywhere outside their shop, one bowl at each table beside the patio fence and a couple more at trees along the street. They also give the dogs a free beef bone to gnaw on while you eat your meal. We'll have to visit this place more often (and perhaps I'll remember to bring my camera ...) Monday wasn't much more exciting ... probably a good thing given how most of the weekend was going. My Cannondale I spent a few weeks in Southern California this April. I brought my bike along too. I wanted to ride Glendora Mountain Road in Glendora, CA. The best part of this ride, is that it is closed off to automobiles 70% of the year. My first attempt Up the mountain failed. I had three punctures. The sidewall of my front tire had a small hole, and the tube kept getting pinched. I ran out of C02, and didn't have a pump. So I was walking back down when another cyclist came to my rescue. I was lucky, cause it would have been a long walk back. Anyway, I got a new tire and tried again. This time I left at 7AM. It was perfect out. It's a great climb with a twisting road that goes for miles. I saw two deer, no cars and best of all no flat tires. Next time I go down I want to ride up Mt. Baldy. Dual sliding cylinder weather guards with automatic close feature. 2 easy-to-use reversible keys. (15) Wide Angle I purchased my Pentax K10D with the standard 18-55mm lens a couple of years ago and have used that ever since - to be honest I didn't touch the camera for the last year but I obviously used it a lot initially and have recently got back into it again :-) ... And its been getting plenty of use. I was looking around for accessories the other day, with predominately lenses on my mind and had a look at the wide angle lenses available. Well, lets just say I was taken back by the price tag of most, especially the latest one Pentax do - costing more than the original camera body & 18-55mm lens together! So looking around at alternatives I came across a "conversion lens" kind of like an adaptor you screw onto the end of your current lens. I've been vaguely aware of these for a while but never really looked into them seriously and always considered them to not be particularly good and cheaply made. However I was hankering after a wide angle and stumbled across the Digital King DSW PRO 0.7 (Wide Conversion Lens for Digital SLR Camera's) that screwed onto a 52mm camera lens thread. The reviews were all glowing and saying if you weren't willing to spend the money on the "proper" piece of kit then this was a great alternative and would be more then adept for amateurs & enthusiasts. So I took the plunge on Sunday evening (purchasing from Amazon at ?69.99) and it arrived today - Tuesday. I managed to get out after work and have a quick play with it and I have to say its more than adequate for me, works great and I can't notice any loss of quality/clarity to the photographs either. The wide angle makes a huge difference to my standard lens on its own and enables much more to be fitted into one shot and gives a great perspective too. Its made in Japan and seems pretty solidly built, and comes with protective lens caps on both sides and a drawstring bag to keep it safe. What can I say, does exactly what I wanted and cost a fraction of the price of buying a wide angle lens! Win win situation. This photograph was taken at a local station (with the wide angle adaptor fitted) and shows the kind of perspective you can achieve. I look forward to using it more in future and (hopefully) capturing some great landscape & architectural shots with it. Just shy of ideal 18022011374 270 Very nice design for a bike rack at Victoria's Atrium Building in the heart of downtown. The rack reflects other elements of the street furniture and public art fixtures accentuating the building. It's a nice piece but for at least one frustrating design flaw. Note the positioning of the pictured bike and the front wheel overlapping the higher of the curved linking bar elements. You can park comfortably only at the ends of the rack, but that same element interferes with the effectiveness of the rack, forcing bikes with anything from a 26" wheel (for mountain bikes) or larger diameter (hybrids or road bikes) to tilt or turn the wheel slightly to allow for a "U" bolt style locks to secure the frame at least, or for many to lock both frame and at least one wheel. Designers and developers were confident in their ability to provide good bike parking but missed the opportunity to have details reviewed to ensure all of the elements of good design were successful. Although understanding of the problems associated with the design, they have thus far been unwilling to make improvements to deliver a better end product. If the bike starts to fall, kids instinctively regain their balance using their feet. Once they’ve gained some momentum and balance control they can lift their feet up as they feel comfortable and start cruising!Traditional toddler bikes with “training wheels don’t necessarily train or teach a child how to ride a bicycle. The training wheels are merely a crutch that give the child a false sense of security and merely keep the child busy or entertained rather than actually helping the child develop the necessary skills to ride a bicycle.Smart Balance Bikes are made from birch wood with real inflatable rubber tires, handle bar grips, cushioned leatherette seat and our own unique carry handle incorporated in the bikes body.ECO FRIENDLY Wood harvested from a replenishable source Formaldehyde free glue Non Toxic paints and lacquer Carton is made from recycled paper with water based ink printingFeatures: Children learn to balance and ride while boosting their confidence. Recycled Tire & Tube Messenger Bag The Recycled Tube and Tire Messenger Bag is made from old inner tubes and bike tires. The materials are practically indestructible so why not wear it as a bag instead of throw it in a landfill? The Messenger Bag is 14.5" long, 10.5" tall and 2.5" wide. It has an adjustable strap that can go as short as 22" to as long 46". This cool messenger bag has a flap that fastens with Velcro and on the inside there is a cell phone pocket, pen holders and a pocket divide. **Please note that customers who have purchased this bag have said it is not as big as they expected. The measurements are accurate, but the tire rubber is not as flexible as other materials so it may be a tighter fit than a fabric bag of the same size. (8) T.A.M.E.(That's A Mower, Eh?) Descending Dead Man's Dorp, Samoa Dunes, Humboldt, California: Grand Championship Kinetic Sculpture Race, May 2004 With only 3 Fat tires on the ground (lost one en route to the race, my BAD), the mower descends into Fierce mosquito territory! Photo by Alex O'Leary Made from a defunct Honda 3813 lawn mower/tractor, now a 2 person pedal powered amphibious, all-terrain machine...by virtue of losing a front wheel en route to the race, it was run as a trike, putting all right side weight on the right rear axel. That broke off on day two, after 18 or so miles. We welded on a bike fork as a crutch /cripple wheel on the right rear corner and finished day 3, with 1 1/2 miles of water & 4 more miles on land, with 2 wheel chair wheels, one 20" BMX wheel, and one remaining Hoosier....pitiful. To get over the last low sort rises, I had to walk backwards on the remaining Hoosier to drive the mower forward. My next, current machine uses that 'tire walk' method as the sole steep uphill propulsion means. Kicks butt, too! Three Seater Quadracycle This little buggy I made for a friend, the late Michelle Mantay, who was a quadraplegic with some use of her arms and legs. She pestered me lots to get this built. This was in '97. We ride it all over, and in parades and what-have-you we get up to 6 kids riding on it. Its construction is pretty obvious, and I put 16" moped tires on the 20' BMX wheels to keep tire maintenance low and extremely durable. It is entirely made of recycled materials, altho' I built the seats. Alas, Michelle died a few years back, and her family said to not 'rush' to return it. I would never have built it were it not for her wishes. R.I.P. Michelle. And I didn't know what to do. Stop and tell him about it? 1. He was riding with headphones. I presume that this interfered with his ability to hear his children talking to him, especially the one he can't see. I also think it interfered with his ability to hear traffic. 2. He didn't know how, or chose not to use, his multiple gears. He was always in a high gear. From this stopped position, he would put one foot on the pedal and scoot forward with the other foot through the intersection (wobbling, of course) until he got enough momentum (needing more because of the trailer's added weight) so he can put the other foot on the pedal, sit down, and start pedaling normally. 3. It was super windy, making behavior 2 possibly have worse effects (like falling over when he already has poor balance). Strange Apparatus 2 John and his amazing bike. I met this fellow on my way home from work when I spotted his bizarre contraption as I rode by. When I stopped to ask about his bike we got into quite a technical discussion about the use of solar energy to power bicycles. John sometimes has to travel a long way and has limited resources but he explains he spends his money on bits and pieces to develop his ideas. One small folding bike, one trailer (the child carrying type), 6 batterypacks (of varying types), 2 electric motors, one photovoltaic solar panel, one leaf blower.... I don't think the leaf blower would be very effective use of energy but it adds to the mysterious look of this contraption. What a guy, I can't wait to see what he comes up with next. So to save on the investment of a road bike, I improvised and used my then-current bike, which was a mountain bike, and put on road tires. But I ended up loving triathlons, so at the beginning of the next season, I bought this bike. I love riding it soooo much! Today was my first ride on it in a few months, and it definitely needs a tune up, particularly some gear adjustment, but it'll be good to go in no time!!! The New Bike While in Arizona I decided to check out a couple of bike shops as I needed one for the upcoming triathlon season. Ended up finding one for a real steal! It was quite a deal. It's now a year later and I still love it :) Similar posts: used street bike for sale croozer mini bicycle trailer city bike paths air resistance exercise bikes city commuter bikes retro bike helmet dirt bikes parts for sale giant comfort bikes |

There is a new figure roaming the streets of Gotham at night. He is young and stylish. He is fearless and rides on four wheels. He's got a new helmet that fits his head just right. And he drinks milk in a bottle before he leaves home. He is the Night Rider! I'm starting to get the hang of having Yuki modelling for my project. Get the lighting all set up, build his mood and slowly persuade him to model. After that you only get about 5 minutes max to make the shot. WHY WEAR A BICYCLE HELMET. WHY WEAR A
Why wear a bicycle helmet. Bmx finger bike. Best deals on road bikes. Why Wear A Bicycle Helmet
Couv's Aloha Todd & Low Bar Cruise Pedalpalooza 2009 New sticker: Vancouver WA Helmets Required, Panties optional. We got on our best Hawaiian* and gathered a Portland Bike Posse and biked over the Columbia River, drinking a ceremonial Hamms mid-river to Todd Boulanger's Aloha Party. Angst Gallery owned by Leah Jackson was hosting the party and was also having a fun Bike Art Show. Then as the night fell, we went on a low bar cruise of of the 'couv. Our first stop was the oldest gay bar in the region. We all were hit on and Rev Phil held an impromptu talent show on the stage for the graduating party who also happened to be dressed Hawaiian style. Next we biked further into the 'couv to drink 1.50 beers while trying to win corn dogs and meat sticks. Ian's lamby returned home to the bar she once was one, confused on why all the prizes were now food. (Boxed mushrooms anyone?), There was some rain and some naked biking, and other incidents I missed. Half the group got tacos, the rest of us got going on our third bar back in downtown Vancouver. We rocked to Bon Jovi. Then next door there was a jam session, and everyone was feeling friendly. And then we scattered home. On my ride home a car turned in front of me, and i had my very first bike-car collision. All by bike biffs so far have been done by thy self, or other cyclists. My front wheel was tacoed. I was in the middle of the intersection on my back, but miraculously okay. I only got one scratch on my hand, and bruises on my fingers and legs. The car took off and didn't stop. Luckily I was three blocks from home as the bike ain't rolling no more. I'm not so happy about having to buy a new wheel today. *Esther was fabulous in Brady-style Hawaii vacation and Rev Phil wowed us all in a two piece flora ensemble! I wore my 3 inch platforms. 9. Bicycle Advisory Committee Kari Hewett (left) and Rhiannon Chernencoff (right) of the City of Vancouver's Bicycle Advisory Committee volunteered as co-leaders of the tour to share their perspectives as cycling advocates. In this photo, the cyclists gathered to discuss the Carral Street Greenway infrastructure, but the conversation turned to helmet law. While every cyclist on the tour was sporting a helmet, most agreed that the local helmet law is actually counterproductive, and stifles local cycling. The requirement for all cyclists to wear helmets would make it very difficult to operate a public bike share program here, which may be why Vancouver does not yet have such a program.
