Emerald Necklace Signage – Jamaica Pond I think the Emerald Necklace signage is a missed opportunity. The signs satisfy the "historical" context, but lack information and are uninviting. The physical shapes of the signs are nice and combining that with some wayfinding graphics could preserve the historical feel, while adding greater functionality and readability. Note the multiple type treatments without real hierarchy – all caps, small caps, oldstyle, and italics. View large size to read it all... The Emerald Necklace in Non-Emerald Colors A string of streams, ponds, wooded areas, and greenery, lined with a bike path that I use to ride to campus. Turns absolutely gorgeous twice a year; during spring/early summer, and autumn. Caught a bit of that here with the almighty Velvia 50.
