Okay, after writing two columns that practically ripped the football program a new hole, one before the Marshall game and another one before the Rice game, youd think by now I would have learned my lesson when it comes to writing about the Memphis Tigers.

Because as we speak, the Tigers have a legitimate chance at playing for a chance to head to the Liberty Bowl with a 3-1 record in conference play after last nights win against the Tulane Green Wave, a rollercoaster victory because Martin Hankins had to bring the team all the way back from a big deficit in the second half.

Honestly, the Tigers have played inspired football since Taylor Bradford died, winning three of their last four, the only loss coming to the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders on October 13th where they just couldnt find any rhythm on offense or defense for the most part.

And now with this weekend being Homecoming and a showdown for first place against East Carolina who beat up on UAB Saturday on tap, the Tigers can finally prove themselves against one of C-USAs elite.

That is, if they dont fall on their faces.
