i wrote seven thousand words tonight, in under four hours. i have no idea how i did this, i think it might have to be chalked up to magic.
then i took myself off to the bluebird to see a bunch of bands. i really liked the first band that played (the analysts). they sounded a lot like interpol, which is a band i really like, so of course i liked them. the second band (the bureau) was pretty dec, too. but by the time their set was over, i was sweating to death, so annie and i and some of her friends went outside to stand in the breeze.
there was a van with rock band running on a ps3. oh. my. god. i totally missed the first half of the third band's set, because i was busy watching boys play rock band. i missed a real band because i was watching a video game band. it was kind of pathetic. and by the time i got around to going inside, my head was really hurting, and i only stayed for two songs before i had to book.
(it is because while i was writing, i forgot to eat something. those slimfast shakes do not really replace meals, because even though i had one, i am still dying for some real food. except i just looked in my fridge: i have a quart of yogurt, two bottles of boone's farm, some dairy milk, some soy milk, and half an order of french fries from sunday night. and a bunch of slimfast shakes. i rule.)
seriously. kat and i wrote more than 60,000 words in under a month. our drop dead date to get the book to jozelle is friday. the only problem is that, uh, we haven't written the climax of the book yet. beginning? yup. middle? yup. end? yup. final battle scene? nope! oops.

Uncharted 2: Among Theives
(for the record - game was played on Hard mode)
I put the wraps on Uncharted 2 this weekend and hot damn was that game phenomenal. Everything about it was just absolutely top notch from the gameplay & graphics to the characters & story to the music & sound. Uncharted 2 is the epitome of a AAA title done right, an extremely fun game that looks just as fantastic as it plays.
Uncharted 2 puts you in the center of a big budget, Hollywood action blockbuster. Bullets whiz overhead, huge explosions keep you on the move and adrenaline-fueled, action sequences push you to the edge of your seat. Sprinkle in some life or death platforming and the second you pick up that controller you are in for one helluva ride.
Uncharted 2 received the dubious 'you can't play this when I'm not around' distinction from my Ev as she enjoyed watching me play and wanted to see how the story unfolded. The two of us even went back and watched all the story cinematics in a row after completing the game. Not to mention checking out the Naughty Dog featurettes that are unlockable bonuses (more games need to do this).
I enjoyed the first Uncharted, and the sequel did not disappoint - even with the added component of multi-player. I'm sure everyone has already played this game, but if you haven't and you own a PS3 then you need to fix that ASAP! Hell, even if you don't own a PS3 Uncharted and Uncharted 2 are REASONS to go out and pick one up!
