Sweetwater - "Elite" 15mm Demolition/Breaching Cannon "Johnny"

Sweetwater -

For the sake of being alive, go to all sizes.

Knock, Knock... Johnny's at your door!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you Sweetwater Precision Weapons latest hand-cannon, Johnny.

This odd and thought provoking firearm is the newest addition to SPW's "Elite" line of weapons. This weapon in specific, is not mass produced, nor custom made for any individual. It is a pure experimental (and explosive) new firearm design. Produced only for those with the specific needs for this gun, and with loads of cash. Due to the limited quantity and lack of demand, this speculative weapon features a wide variety of odd looking pieces that serve for different purposes.

Essentially, "Johnny" is a heavy duty, multipurpose rifle that fires a large variety of 15mm ammunition. The weapon fires a standard high velocity projectile with a heavy explosive base, similar to the AA12's FRAG 12 ammunition. This round can pierce 1.5 inches of steel up to 150 meters away, and can safely destroy any personnel hiding behind a barrier, door, or vehicle in a certain diameter. This makes for simple killing at a reasonable range, while still being highly effective. These kind of weapons are being sought after more and more because of there aid on today's modern battlefields. Other ammunition types include; heavy armor piercing, white phosphorus, frag, and anti vehicle. One can make full use of this gun by utilizing each type of ammo for every situation.

In addition, this breaching tool has an immense battering type muzzle, absolutely perfect for destroying any sort of cover. One can beat down just about any wooden door, brick surfaces, or concrete faced walls. You can even blow the shit out of any heavy duty/reinforced steel doors with the pressure plate function. Switch the safety to a sub-setting, and and when the round pressure plate impacts a hard surface, the weapon will fire and decimate what lies before it.

Just like any other Sweetwater weapon Johnny the demo canon comes with a set of stock features. Three sides of rails for mounting any personal parts or gadgets, reinforced iron sights, and other top quality parts. Sling points are located on many parts of the gun, and can be altered. The weapon has a thoroughly gutted bolt system with a near indestructible feeding system. This gun fires at a semiautomatic pace, with a slower feeding rate compared to other semi-auto weapons. Included with this gun is an SPW special, 500mw high intensity green laser aiming designator. This burning attachment makes for easy targeting for both the user of the gun, and for his squad mates. The laser beam is visible in both day, and night and has a lengthy opertaion time with V2 lithium batteries.

This weapon was a pain in the ass to finally complete, there were multiple browser crashes, frustrating deleting of parts, but I am very proud of how it all turned out. Unfortunately, the code won't even load when I choose to export, so no pastie :'(

Credit to the whole SPW team, thanks a bunch guys! You've all been doing amazing work, and sorry for absence.

IMG 0607 Stone carved trough

This sort of fluke-shaped carved stone is a bit of a mystery to me. It is imbedded in the concrete just outside someone's door in the old town of Daxu, ??, (south of Guilin). The town's name literally means Big Fair or Big Market. Many of the building along the street housed small factories or other businesses. When I was there 15 years ago I watched steel cable being braided through a card. And there is still a small wine factory on the street.
The carved granite stone must have been part of a drainage system. The fact that the two wings curve down slightly to the central runnel certainly sest this. Also there is the stone's open underside, sesting that it was used, together with others, as a sort of catchment, not a floor. Why use granite and not the ubiquitous Guilin limestone? Granite may resist heat better and is certainly harder than limestone. It may also resist caustic liquids better. Or it may be that heavy tools were being used in the vacinity of the drain and so a material that could withstand hard impacts was used. If the stone were for drainage, though, I'd expect the channel to be rounded at the bottom, not flat. Perhaps the channel is more for catching than draining. I know that in foundries where scrap iron is melted, sand is used to remove impurities. The liquid glass floats to the top of the blast furnace and is drained off, along with the impurities. when the liquid glass has partially solidified, a gaff is used to pull away the glass. But, now that I think about it, the glass is usually drained into loose dirt or sand so it can be pulled away easily, and not onto a solid surface that the glass will adhere to. So I'm still not sure how this stone was used.
