5mph growth restrictions
now, if I had been a clever girl and actually used a zoom lens you would be able to see that this was a 5mph sign in the middle of a field surrounded by grass and trees in the distance.
Instead I stuck with the girls lens of choice so you'll just need to take my word for it.
However do note the fact i've moved above my usual f/1.8 comfort zone here
Tribute to music
A triple exposure. The instrument is my cello. The in-focus music is the first page of Dvorak's cello concerto in b minor, and the OOF music is the prelude to Bach's first suite for cello solo.

Drummers Drumming - SX40 video
With big tin trumpet and little red drum,
Marching like soldiers, the children come!
It 's this way and that way they circle and file---
My! but that music of theirs is fine!
This way and that way, and after a while
They march straight into this heart of mine!
A sturdy old heart, but it has to succumb
To the blare of that trumpet and beat of that drum!
Come on, little people, from cot and from hall---
This heart it hath welcome and room for you all!
It will sing you its songs and warm you with love,
As your dear little arms with my arms intertwine;
It will rock you away to the dreamland above---
Oh, a jolly old heart is this old heart of mine,
And jollier still is it bound to become
When you blow that big trumpet and beat that red drum!
So come; though I see not his dear little face
And hear not his voice in this jubilant place,
I know he were happy to bid me enshrine
His memory deep in my heart with your play---
Ah me! but a love that is sweeter than mine
Holdeth my boy in its keeping to-day!
And my heart it is lonely---so, little folk, come,
March in and make merry with trumpet and drum!
~ Eugene Field, 1850-1895 ~
This was the end of their performance ... the drummers had marched round in a square and stopped just by the bus stop where we were waiting. I risked missing the bus to come catch the end of this and I missed some super bits. Still, nice to have this as a reminder. This is the first time I used the SX 40 video.
Easy Indoor Gardening - Fragrant Lillies 018
Those of you who are regular readers/visitors to my photostream will know that i finally got around to planting some climbing roses (which are coming on nicely......fingers crossed ! ) so feeling sufficiently motivated i have now turned my hand to some lily bulbs which again are super easy to grow.
To grow your own lillies you will need the following items ;
*1 Large terracota plant pot filled with good quality damp compost
*4 Lily bulbs (preferably the Asiatic varieties, as they are specially bred and adapted from a very warm climate, as well as being grown in hot houses and simular settings, and as such are suitable for raising as houseplants)
*An old tablespoon
Method ;
Dig a 3" inch deep hole for each of the bulbs, leaving a small space between each hole.
Place the bulbs into the holes, cover with compost and water lightly.
Place the planter on a sunny window sill or simular position and leave undisturbed.
