Tamron AF 70-300mm f/4.0-5.6 SP Di VC USD XLD for Nikon Digital SLR Cameras In the pursuit to achieve the most outstanding image resolution in the 70-300mm class, Tamron's Anniversary lens - the SP AF70-300mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD - utilizes an advanced optical design that features an LD (Low Dispersion) and an XLD (Extra Low Dispersion) lens element made from specialized materials that prevent chromatic aberration. As a result, the SP AF70-300mm F4-5.6 Di VC USD boasts sharper contrast and greater descriptive performance than all others in its class. In addition, it is the first Tamron lens sporting a USD (Ultrasonic Silent Drive), Tamron's very own ultrasonic auto-focus drive mechanism. This USD mechanism delivers fast focusing, making it a perfect telephoto zoom choice for photographing sports, racing, or other fast-moving subjects. The lens also boasts Tamron's proprietary VC (Vibration Compensation) image stabilization to assist in hand-held photography, not only at long focal length ranges where blurring is common, but also under low-lit conditions, dramatically enhancing photographic freedom. This combination of best in class image resolution, Ultrasonic Silent Drive and Vibration Compensation is a new achievement of Tamron technology, culminating in the production of a premium 70-300mm telephoto zoom lens. Francis Parkman : France and England in North America : Vol. 1: Pioneers of France in the New World, The Jesuits in North America in the Seventeenth Century, La Salle and the Discovery of the Great West, The Old Regime in Canada (Library of America) This is the first of two volumes presenting all seven parts of Francis Parkman's monumental narrative history of the struggle for control of the American continent. Thirty years in the writing, Parkman's "history of the American forest" is an accomplishment hardly less awesome than the adventures he describes. This volume begins with the tragic settlement of French Huguenots in Florida, then shifts north as explorers like Samuel de Champlain map the wilderness and wage savage forest warfare against the Iroquois; resolute Jesuits attempt to convert the Indians and suffer captivity, torture, and martyrdom in the wilderness; conflict rages in French Canada between religious extremists and fur traders. Dominating all is the fiercely indomitable La Salle, whose obsession with colonizing the Mississippi Valley leads to vast treks across the western prairie and assassination in a lonely Texas swamp. (10) Steveston, BC. I JUST recently got the Fujifilm Finepix X100. I preordered it on March 14, 2011 and it arrived in my hands on April 02, 2011. I was lucky enough to find a store that had a LOW preorder list! The store had 8 preorders, and they received 3 from Fuji Canada. Luckily for me, i made the cut, and I was #3 of 3 cameras. Anyways, today, I decided to walk around Steveston, BC for a quick street test of the Fujifilm X100. All I can say is, WOW! This camera is FANTASTIC! I feel invisible when I am taking street shots! I definitely feel a lot more liberated as oppose to when I use my 5D Mark II. I'm still getting used to the camera so I hope to improve my speed when handling the camera. It'll probably take a week or something to do just that. Anyways, here's some test shots from Steveston, BC. Imagetech 3D Trio camera This is an Imagetech 3D Trio camera made for "lenticular" printing. The coins are to show size. I bought this at a local thrift store. I have not yet had film that was run through it processed but it seems to be working correctly. Automatic film loading, motorized film advance, takes 100, 200, or 400 ASA/ISO film, a 1/100th of a second shutter speed and automatically selected f/ stop of f/5.6 or f/11, built in flash and motorized film rewind. Takes two AA batteries and 35mm film. Prints can be made at Snap3D.com in Toronto, Canada. This is my second 3D camera - my first one is a Nishika N8000, also purchased at a thrift store. I hope they work! camera stores in canada Energy is at the core of the way Canadians live. Yet recent research indicates that North America's supply of oil-our most consumed source of primary energy-may only last until 2025. So what happens when this valuable resource runs dry? In this highly readable introduction, Peter Sinclair examines the history of energy production and consumption leading to the impending energy "crisis." What policy decisions have been made along the way and in whose interest? From the Alberta oil sands to offshore drilling in Newfoundland and Labrador, Sinclair delves into the hot button issues that affect Canadians today. Looking ahead, he points to which alternative and renewable energies we may rely on and the environmental, social, and political pressures that are increasingly pushing Canadians toward a critical change. (19) Mill Ave and Phoenix Light Rail Bridges Tempe Town Lake at Twilight I captured this just as the sun was setting over Tempe Town Lake and almost twilight. The Mill Ave Bridge is on the left and the Phoenix Light Rail Bridge on the right. Feel free to use just please give me credit and let me know where. The falling star across the sky is actually a jet taking off from Sky Harbor Airport. I thought the reflection of it on the lake looked like star dust. The rail bridge actually changes colors as trains roll over. I will be posting a video of this sometime in the future. No Photoshop this is a Raw image right out of the 5D Mark II camera proccessed using Canon Digital Photo Professional to JPEG. My only regret with this shot is the power lines running right through the middle, have no idea why the city of Tempe let these be put in there instead of running around or underground. market square ii Bremen's market square on a snowy evening. Processing route Pre-processing 32 Photographs (8 frames, 4 exposures each, 18mm/f11/ISO 100; 3,6,13 and 25s). All of these were processed from raw in Bibble5 with few adjustments. Lens-induced distortions were removed from these using PTLens. Stitching The next step was to build a panorama based on one set of exposures (I chose the 13s per frame set). Hugin provides a convenient front-end to PanoTools and automatic key point generation. By copying the project and adjusting the file names, the same stitching procedure was applied to all other exposures too. The individual panoramas were then retouched in Gimp to remove flares (mainly from snow settling on the front element of the lens). Exposure blending The four panoramas were then brought together using Enfuse (via the ExpoBlend Plugin in digiKam) to provide a balanced exposure whilst avoiding the over-saturated look of a true tone-mapped HDRI. Finally, ShiftN was used to straighten converging lines and the final output was resized in Gimp. my new olympus jee!!! i bought a dslr!!! my old olympus got crappy (i had to push the button really hard, so it was not easy to take non-blurry pics) and i was tired of developing films anyway. i've tried the olympus e-410 in barcelona a little and i just fell in love with it, so it was not hard to choose a camera. i can do everything manually and it has so many options, i just love it! i bought it on monday evening and received it on tuesday, but i didn't upload any picture of it, because i wanted to keep it a secret until this weekend let's hope to post many good pictures taken with this lovely cam on flickr :) Related topics: best image quality compact camera mobiola web camera s60v2 red camera filters nikon pen camera digital camera online stevenage camera shop lumix camera malaysia funny trail camera pictures camera stores atlanta china digital camera price |

CMOS Analog Circuit Design (The Oxford Series in Electrical and Computer Engineering) Respected authors Phil Allen and Doug Holberg bring you the third edition of their popular textbook, CMOS Analog Circuit Design. Working from the forefront of CMOS technology, Phil and Doug have combined their expertise as engineers and academics to present a cutting-edge and effective overview of the principles and techniques for designing circuits. Their two main goals are: * to mix the academic and practical viewpoints in a treatment that is neither superficial nor overly detailed * to teach analog integrated circuit design with a hierarchically organized approach Most of the circuits, techniques, and principles presented in CMOS Analog Circuit Design come directly from the authors' industrial experience, making the book a valuable resource for both practicing engineers and students taking courses in analog electronics or CMOS analog design. The trademark approach of Phil and Doug's textbook is its design recipes, which take readers step-by-step through the creation of real circuits, explaining and demystifying complex design problems. The book provides detailed coverage of often-neglected areas and deliberately leaves out bipolar analog circuits, since CMOS is the dominant technology for analog integrated circuit design. Appropriate for advanced undergraduates and graduate students with background knowledge in basic electronics--including biasing, modeling, circuit, analysis, and frequency response--CMOS Analog Circuit Design, Third Edition, presents a complete picture of design (including modeling, simulation, and testing) and enables readers to undertake the design of an analog circuit that can be implemented by CMOS technology. New to This Edition * An updated Chapter 2 that reflects the latest technology on twin-well shallow-trench-isolation CMOS * Expanded coverage of such topics as frequency response, feedback, distortion, noise, bootstrapped voltage references, and photosensitivity * A new appendix on layout techniques (17) CMOS Noise a black photo with the levels boosted way up shows a REALLY weird noise pattern on my Casio's CMOS sensor. (7) Fisher-Price Toys: Movie Viewer and Spider-Man Cartridge - 1 of 2 Fisher-Price has been a leader in the world of optical toys for children for several decades. In the late 1980’s, the western New York-based toy company created the PXL-2000, a revolutionary children’s video camera that operated on audiotape. Unfortunately, the PXL was not initially successful and was relegated to the world of film artists, who used the primitive video-making toy for its interesting graphic representation of images. The development of the PXL was the eventual progeny of a much more successful movie-related toy produced almost two decades earlier. 1973 saw the release of the Fisher-Price Movie Viewer for children aged 3–10. The viewer itself looked like a cream-colored plastic super-8 camera with a multi-colored circular hand crank on one side and a small plastic window that provided a light source on the other. One end had a small magnifying glass view hole, while the other end had a space for the rectangular movie cartridge. To experience this flicking picture show, the child would insert the yellow cartridge and crank away, watching the movie through the eyepiece. The viewer used an 8mm strip of film that was permanently looped on the inside of the cartridge so that at the end of any particular strip, the clip would simply begin again. Almost all of the films made for the Movie Viewer were clips from well-known animated or live-action children’s entertainment. Disney animated product—such as an abridged version of “Lonesome Ghosts,” film segments from Sesame Street, Bugs Bunny and Peanuts shorts made up a number of the early cartridges, but in later years, feature films, television programs and other filmed entertainment were included in the Movie Viewer repertoire. Even The Black Hole had its own cartridge. One of the special features offered by the Fisher-Price Movie Viewer was the variable control of the unit. Children could move the film as fast or as slow as they wanted. As if that wasn’t enough, it was also very easy to run the film backwards (also in variable speeds). It meant that you could watch Mickey Mouse knock over a door in slow-mo in “Lonesome Ghosts” or watch a man’s face fall out of a cake in Sesame Street's “Numbers”. The best thing was that it wasn’t battery operated or governed by electricity. The Fisher-Price Movie Viewer was all kid-powered, kid-run and kid-approved. Mettoy - the people behind Corgi Toys - brought out a duplicate model - in blue, only. The movies on the cartridges were exact, too. Please see page 2 of 2 for the Mettoy version. In 1977, Fisher Price added a Theater Viewer product that used the same cartridges to project the 8mm images on a small backlit screen. The cartridges themselves could also be opened and the film inside replaced with a loop of your own choosing. This was an unexpected, unplanned and probably unsanctioned benefit to the Viewer, but many aspiring young filmmakers, keen in the ways of Fisher Price, picked up on the application and handed out the viewers as previews for their latest 8mm masterpieces. After a long run and many imitators, including an attempt by Kenner to catch the slightly older audiences with clips from prime-time television, Fisher-Price stopped making the Movie Viewer and Movie Theater in 1985. In 1986 they came out with another, sleeker model of the Viewer but it lasted only one year. Fisher Price Camera My cousin's 3? year old got this camera for Christmas. This digital camera. It's made by Fisher Price. it's a camera designed for little kids to use. Not just young kids but LITTLe kids. He even mostly knew how to use it. He'd run round and try to take veryone's picture by looking through the dual view fiders. Of course he'd also mostly point it at the floor when the actual picture was being taken. This gets me thinking though. This is where the world is heading. I know a lot about computers because I grew up using a computer since well, as early as I can remember. POCKET GPS SPEED CAMERA DATABASE : SPEED CAMERA SIGNS LAW. Pocket Gps Speed Camera Database
Tonopah, NV Subject: Trip with Dad to Monument Valley in N618MK to meet Alyson, Caitlin, and Christina - Notes Dad and I met Thursday afternoon 05.30.02 at Palo Alto and loaded MK. We were airborne by 1730 and headed towards KBIH. We cruised at 11,500' with the sun at our backs and took some slides and video along the way. We crossed the Sierra and spiraled down over the town of Bishop to lose altitude. We landed and I had a chance to wash the plane off while we waited for the motel van to pick us up. Dad and I had an extended post-flight cocktail hour in the upscale hotel room we had in Bishop, resulting in us showing up late for dinner and having to eat at McDonald's. I sat in the jacuzzi and had a nice time talking to some local kids (5 boys and a girl) who snuck into the pool area. Bishop is a good town. With nearly full tanks we pulled out of Bishop Friday a.m. for St. George. The heat and our weight made the climb out of Bishop slow, and we had to circle a few times before we found a relatively low pass over the White Mountains. After the White Mountains we got a full dose of the Nevada Desert. Even with a ground speed of 135kts the desert just seems to go on forever. Huge mountain ranges come and go, most of which aren't even named on the WAC chart we were navigating with. The gray/brown of the desert stays until just before Utah, when nice orange colors start and the scenery becomes more interesting. St. George is a fun airport to land at, being on a bluff directly over the town. Dad and I had lunch at a restaurant across from the field with a great view of the town - Mormon country. After fueling we departed for Monument Valley (UT25 or 71V depending on which map you read). The database in my Garmin GNS430 did not have Monument Valley in it, but Dad noticed that it did recognize state lines, and since Gouldings Lodge was pretty much on the Arizona/Utah border, we could just follow the state line on the GPS display. The Page VOR made it easy, Monument Valley was 73nm out of Page. We flew over Lake Powell, and just south of Navajo Mountain. Salt Lake Center warned us of Navajo Mountain - a procedural thing they do which is really nice, although somewhat funny on a day with 100+ mile visibility. We flew thru the canyon and right over Gouldings Lodge, just like we saw the pilot of our chartered Cessna do in 1977 when Dad and I were there. I paid special attention to my first landing, knowing that it might be challenging. It turned out to be an easy one, on the 4000' mostly dirt strip. The temperature on the ground was 102, at 5,200'. We met Alyson, Christina and Caitlin at Gouldings Lodge and went for a much needed swim. Just before sunset I took Caitlin and Christina up for a short ride. I emptied MK of all unnecessary luggage, and got about 500+ fpm on climb out. My second landing at UT25 was fine, although I could feel the wind picking up a bit - naturally directly across the runway. After landing, the girls got off and I picked up Alyson for a short ride. Dad did great work photographing the takeoff with the video camera. I flew the exact same route with Alyson, coming back thru the canyon with a low power setting so as to not annoy the Navajo. On final approach with Alyson the crosswind was strong, and I had to drop my right wing down into it pretty far. The landing was smooth, but got my attention. We had a really nice dinner and got up early the next morning for a tour of the valley that Dad treated us to. That afternoon a dust storm hit, and I spent a few hours out at the airport basically trying to stop MK from blowing away. I parked Alyson's car next to the plane and used it as a tie down, since there weren't any on the tarmac. I watched a few brave pilots take off in the dust storm, one of whom nearly got killed. It was a group of four, in a Cessna 185 tail dragger. The 185 has the same engine/propeller as my 182, so I am familiar with its performance characteristics. There was a 10 knot crosswind gusting to 23 across the runway. The temperature was just below 100 when the fully loaded plane made its takeoff roll. All looked well and it made a steep takeoff, climbing to about 50' and then suddenly pancaking back onto the runway with a big cloud of dust - and then shooting up again! It was scary to watch and I can only imagine how the passengers must have felt. They were on their way to Durango, I sure hope it was worth it. Sunday morning came too quickly. Dad and I loaded up MK and headed to Page for gas. We were heavy coming out of Page and climbed out slowly over Lake Powell. We changed the route on the way home, going to Tonopah, NV for gas. Dad did most of the flying, which was great. There were clouds building up all along our route, and we had 2 1/2 hours of turbulence all the way to Tonopah. As Dad was busy flying, I don't think he noticed it. I sure did. Tonopah is really out in the middle of nowhere. In der Trolly Funktion ist das ganze auch noch transportabel - aber wirklich schwer so wie er gepackt ist und mehr als aus dem Kofferraum und eine Etage per Treppe ist da wirklich schwierig. WHICH CAMERA BAG - CAMERA NIKON PRICE - BEST OLYMPUS CAMERA. Which Camera Bag
New camera bag I finally decided to get a better camera bag for my photo equipment. I had been using a hiking bag, which only comfortably fit a couple of lenses (and not the camera). I really liked the fact that I could strap this to my waist or use the shoulder strap, that's something I love about my hiking bag. Should provide easy access to the lenses on top of the better ergonomics. Camera Bag - Main Area For the MomPhotographer's Group, here is my Kata Backpack bag filled as it normally is for a shoot. This is a beast of a bag...heavy and it doesn't fit under seats on a plane but it carries EVERYTHING. Mouse over the image to see the comment marks with what I have in there. 365. At the Bottom of Everything "We must hang up in the belfry Where the bats and moonlight laugh We must stare into a crystal ball and only see the past And in the caverns of tomorrow With just our flashlights and our love We must plunge, we must plunge, we must plunge And then we'll get down there, way down to the very bottom of everything And then we'll see it, oh we'll see it, we'll see it, we'll see it Oh my morning's coming back The whole world's waking up All the city buses swimming past I'm happy just because I found out I am really no one" I'll let you in on a secret, I rule the universe! The weather forecast have predicted rain for two weeks now. Yesterday, the forecast gave me a slot of bright sunlight! So here I am, at the end of the line, in my green jacket, and my hat of awesomeness, in nice weather, surrounded by friends; 365 days, no holes, I am proud! This is no end though, I choose to see this as a beginning. The beginning of a life as a passionate photographer. Now it is time to continue to learn. Continue to take photos. One project is finished, new ones will come. I will plunge into the caverns of tomorrow with my camera, my flash gun and my love. What I gained from this project is way more than I could imagine before I started. I had no idea where it would take me. I read an interview with Anna Gay in DPS where she was talking about what she gained from such a project, and I started my project on a whim. Since then I've been through a long year; I've torn through two sets of cheap Chinese shutter remotes, I've broken lenses, had my speedlite in for repair for a whole month having to rely on other sources of lighting in the middle of the darkest Norwegian winter, jumped across this whole city and the world, from Norway, through London and South-East Asia then back again, I've been standing on chairs in shorts, had friends challenge me and cooperate with me, learned myself to use my camera, strobes, Photoshop and Lightroom. I've grown as a photographer and person. The benefits can't be described in words, it must be experienced personally, since everyone will experience this differently. It's like life in miniature. If I myself should sum up the main theme of my 365 project as a whole, I think I would go for "The joy of living". I've had bad days, I have procrastinated it and half-assed it, I've taken sad pictures, emo pictures, boring pictures, but in the end, when I look into the crystal ball of the past, this project will for me always be standing as a reminder to try my best to enjoy life, enjoy the ups and downs, and the importance of "go do". I hope I've also sparked some passion for life and happiness in you guys through my pictures. In the end though, I would never have made it through this if it was not for other people, you need other people around you; To encourage you, inspire you, challenge you or just be there. So I would give my thanks to all of you for contribution to this project, wether if it has been to help out with the pictures, challenge me, inspire me or commenting and interacting with me. Without you, I would have been nothing. As they say in Africa: "Ubuntu", I am because of what we all are. That's why I was not alone when I shot my last frame. Big thanks to all of you, I would also send my thanks to all who could not come! A special thanks go out to all my fellow 365'ers for the encouragement, inspiration and community. No one mentioned, no one forgotten. You know who you are! Everything move in circles and now I'm back at where I started out, feeling this is too much of me. I also have a burning feeling of emptiness, melancholy, a sense of loss, something have come to an end. More important is a big sense of accomplishment and pride. This project have taken up a large part of my year, and now it's over, just like that! I wonder where I will go from here.. I already feel an urge to start something new, something different. I will gladly pack down my cheap, Chinese remote and turn the lens away from myself now. After all I am just another person in this world, which just have filled his desire for narcissism for a long time to come. I have come down to the bottom of everything, and I've landed safely on both feet. Cheers, Jorn, in the end, the end really is the beginning canon 5d mkII Yep thats right, i've gone over to the dark side. This is a Canon camera that i'm now shooting with. Actually it didn't make all that difference. I still use nikon sometimes. Its made me realise that its not about the camera, its the end result, the camera is just the tool to capture that. So those hours that i spent debating the pros and cons of Nikon V Canon was a waste of my life. Sure there are things that i miss from Nikon, but like wise there are things that canon do well that nikon don't. Swings and roundabouts. So this is the studios, Canon 5D MkII. Its a beauty of a beast, and takes upto 21 MP images, which is fantastic for studio work, the detail is amazing. Then i can switch over to 10MP and shoot hundreds of shots for a wedding. Best of both worlds.
