Recorder and Teleprompter My recording setup. Since I was doing the video project alone, I didn't have anyone to help me out during the recording. Everything had to be either self-sufficient or within immediate reach (without being visible or visibly used). My HDR-HC7 recorded HD directly to my computer through IEEE-1394 (Firewire/iLink) as M2T files. I used an Ultra-wide-angle lens to capture more. The fisheye distortion was edited post-production. I borrowed a laptop from a friend and used a opened up my script as a Word document for a makeshift teleprompter. I increased the magnification so that I could easily read it, and attached an optical scroll mouse to the computer so that I could scroll down the document while speaking during recording. I used a Sony wireless microphone to (mostly) eliminate the sound of my computer and the house. I used an Audiovox personal LCD TV as a monitor to set up the frame.
