At over 14” long and 6” wide, this is an impressive conversation piece that you just can’t resist picking up each time you walk by. Made of solid brass with unbelievably intricate details, this is Victorian era craftsmanship at its finest. This is by far the largest magnifying glass I seen, and I would estimate it weighs at least 3 to 4 pounds. Ironically, you would need another magnifying glass just to see most of the fine details hidden in the Art Nouveau floral patterns, and designs. The original glass lense was chipped and damaged beyond any repair. I ordered a high quality vintage glass lense online as a replacement. The “new” lense circa 1965 is high powered, and in absolutely perfect condition. The pictures hardly show the magnification power of the large 4 ?” lense. The reverse side of the magnifying glass is exactly the same in every regard, with the exeption of an inset face allowing you to see the brass prongs that securely hold the glass lense in. On the base of the handle a stamp reads “Made in France”. 20110711 Selected Antiques 0035 Detail photo of the manufacturer's label. The label reads "Brandt: Furniture of Character, Hagerstown, Maryland." Mahogany coffee table from the 1960's, I believe. The two leaves on the ends fold down, and there's a black & gold glass tray that slides out from either side of the table, just under the tabletop. The tabletop shows some signs of wear, but is in great condition considering its age. antique glass coffee table This stylish outside wall lamp offers great looks, plus the convenience of a built-in motion detector and dusk-to-dawn sensor.
