35MM CAMERA BATTERY

I enjoy night photography so I am doomed to keep buying cameras which are not really in any way cut out for night photography (at least software-socialist reasons kept me from buying anything with a Foveon so I'm not out that much money for it). But at least I've decided I'd rather enjoy myself in an awful lo-fi post-post-post-ironic Lomographic way than struggle to obtain results with an accuracy and precision I have neither the time nor resources to accomplish.

This isn't all that bad for a $100 camera, anyway. [Now tell me which $100 camera I should have gotten instead, so I can get 3 when the new 40MP tri-D models with olfactory sampling come out and they are going for $30. But man I don't know how I would live without being able to record smells, because sometimes things smell really good and I would want to smell those smells again sometime.]

That's not the motion of the stars - as far as I can tell the IS goes a little crazy (or is doomed to overshoot and overcorrect) with dark time exposures, or there's some interaction with the self-timer when using it in 'single' (only-while-capturing) mode, or heck if I know because I only played around for an hour one night so far. So if you are going to try this and have the camera on a steady surface, turn IS off and your pictures will actually be more sharp BUT THAT'S NOT ARTY I'M GOING FOR SPIRAL BOKEH (pass the PBR).

I am lying because I have never actually tried a PBR and would not care to. However I do enjoy me some Cynar, and that statement will only become a commercial use violative of Flickr's Terms of Service if the Campari Group ever notices and gives me lots of money for saying it (PLEASE DO).

Anyhow, no postprocessing because my TFT is awful and it is impossible to tell if I have actually managed to get it at all approximately calibrated. [Someday I will buy a colorimeter that works with salmiak UNIX but that day is the day when I have money.] I also have nothing resembling a workflow but maybe this will help me figure one out by the time I next feel like doing anything 'serious' with a 'prosumer' 'camera.' In the meantime I am documenting what the out-of-camera results actually look like. Rights reserved because if you are too lazy to take your own picture for your iNdie GarageBand's album cover you deserve to have to give me money or at least perform my necessary dental work.

All of this nonsense written in the style of certain obsolete-hip web (1.5) properties is just intended to inspire you enough to get you to post some sort of comment that will inspire me, because I'm feeling uninspired.
