BICYCLE HUB GEAR - 125CC DIRT BIKES 2 STROKE
Bicycle Hub Gear
- The center of the bike wheel that contains the axle and the bearings.
- One of a set of toothed wheels that work together to alter the relation between the speed of a driving mechanism (such as the engine of a vehicle or the crank of a bicycle) and the speed of the driven parts (the wheels)
- a toothed wheel that engages another toothed mechanism in order to change the speed or direction of transmitted motion
- A particular function or state of adjustment of engaged gears
- Equipment that is used for a particular purpose
- set the level or character of; "She pitched her speech to the teenagers in the audience"
- gearing: wheelwork consisting of a connected set of rotating gears by which force is transmitted or motion or torque is changed; "the fool got his tie caught in the geartrain"
S3X hub
Overall view of the S3X hub - it's about the same size as a 'regular' AW3, and even inherits the toggle/indicator chain actuation mechanism. Compared to the 'rotating collar' arrangement on, say, the Shimano Nexus hub gear, this is a bit of an anachronism. It works, though.
I think they really screwed up with the name though - put "s3x spares" into Google and you'll see what I mean.
Hercules 3 speed English man's bike
I collected this rusty-but-rollingundated Hercules 3-speed gents roadster in Co. Louth, today. Hercules hub gear, rod-brakes with elegant side-pull rear brake arrangement. Hercules handlebars. Full chaincase all intact. Headbadge badly corroded: 'The Hercules Cycle & Motor Co Ltd...Britannia Wks Birmingham'. Can anyone date this lady? Serial no 6531.
