The back of the tines is where the decoration is, that's because of the way Europeans hold their forks compared to the way Americans do. To the left of the decoration the marks are from the bigorne or anvil that was used to back mark the piece when the hall marks were placed on the front of the fork. GoodWill totally missed out on this one.
Tufts No. 1
This one is a premium design. The pattern is by James Tufts and is truly an awesome piece to behold. It is wider than most and detailed with a fabulous silverplate pattern.
Sterling Silver has been used for the hand made chain and clasp and it is embellished with a Swarovski crystal.
The patterrn is from 1885.
