- A synthesized mineral used as an affordable substitute for diamonds. While similar in appearance, diamonds are somewhat harder and lighter. Cubic zirconia gemstones have been made commercially since 1976.
- A colorless form of zirconia that is very similar to diamond in refractivity and appearance
- Cubic zirconia (or CZ) is the cubic crystalline form of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2). The synthesized material is hard, optically flawless and usually colorless, but may be made in a variety of different colors. It should not be confused with zircon, which is a zirconium silicate (ZrSiO4).

The English monarchical writing-master. A new county copy-book. ... To which is added, an essay towards a further improvement of a hand for business; ... engraved on copper plates, by George Bickham.
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. Western literary study flows out of eighteenth-century works by Alexander Pope, Daniel Defoe, Henry Fielding, Frances Burney, Denis Diderot, Johann Gottfried Herder, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, and others. FIORELLA OF THE BANDITS by ECLETTICA
The Bandits, or Les Bandits, is an opera bouffe (or operetta) by Jacques Offenbach and which was first performed at the Theatre des Varietes in Paris in 1869.
In essence, The Bandits is a story about Fragoletto, a young farmer, who's captured by Italian brigands lurking in the Alps. He falls in love with Fiorella, the daughter of the bandit chief Falsacappa, and to prove himself to Falsacappa, becomes involved in a complicated plan to steal a large sum of money while intercepting the marriage between the Princess of Granada (whom they capture) and the womanising Prince of Mantua (the Duke). The convoluted plot culminates with Fragoletto marrying his beloved Fiorella.
Moral of the story? The true bandits are to be found not in the forest but in the leading circles of society.
This piece pays homage to the beautiful Fiorella. Her striking looks. Her street wise independence. Her feisty yet utterly lovable nature. And like her muse, Fiorella Of The Bandits is sugar and spice, sassy and sexy, and all things nice.
Without a doubt, that exotic tassel is the scenestealer here. It's 7.25" of pure opulence which begins with a circlet meticulously fabricated by hand - dotted with Afghanistan Lapis Lazulli; accented with Brazilian Neon Apatite; and sporting a wee line-up of the tiniest Elecric Blue Seed Pearls ever.
Next comes an EXQUISITE, GEM QUALITY Black Rutilated Quartz Bell Flower; adorned with yet more Lapis, and from which cascades a haven of visual treats. The latter is *such* a sumptuous feast for the eyes that I've just got to list the gemstones used here:-
> Very Rare AAA Grade Yellow Heliodore Briolettes
> Gem Grade Chrysoprase Briolettes
> Vesuvianite Rondelles
> Rainbow Moonstone Rondelles
> Afghanistan Polished Lapis Lazulli Rounds & Faceted Briolettes
> Silver Keishi Pearls
> Brazilian Polished Amethyst Rounds
> Polished Rhodolite Garnet Rounds
And the piece de resistance? A massive Polished Iolite Focal measuring 38mm and weighing a glorious 40 Carats. There are natural inclusions present which is not unusual for this gemstone but it's really VERY rare to find Iolite in such a large size and of this quality. Befitting its regal status, this darling has been crowned with a wreath of Neon Apatite as well as Lapis.
By virtue of that nifty adjustable Lobster Claw Clasp, Fiorella Of The Bandits extends from 18" to 22" without so much as a quick flick of your fingers. More Vesuvianite, Lapis, Brazilian Amethyst, Neon Apatite, Rhodolite Garnet and Faceted Silver Pearls add a festive gypsy flair to the entire ensemble. All wires and chains are 999 Fine and 925 Sterling Silver.
{ COLLECTION }
FIORELLA OF THE BANDITS is part of Eclettica's TATTOOS, KITES AND GYPSIES Collection.
It is a line utterly inspired by my love for body art; my fascination with the Wau (my country's national kite); and my lifelong passion to experience the nomadic lifestyle of gypsies.
Each and every design is a manifestation of the finest gemstones executed in Eclettica's signature style of intricate wirework and unapologetic flamboyance.

I'm a bit short on time tonight otherwise I'd have kept rolling this sucker until I had it all in focus. I found that at 1/3s shutter speed and ISO400 I needed f/4.0 (or wider) to capture the rolling movement of the coin and, as such, had limited DoF. I guess I could have added some continuous lighting and stopped down the aperture a bit? I'll leave that experiment for another day.

Handmade Momoko Shoes v1.0
This is the first pair of shoes I have made for Momoko. Unlike the Mary Janes I cast last year, which were copies of a popular Barbie shoe, these are made from original masters that I sculpted in Super Sculpey. Photos of the sculpting are a couple weeks farther back in my photostream.
The wedge base of the shoe is cast in Smooth-On Smooth Cast 300 urethane resin, while the straps are PVC coated aluminum craft lace, which is fancy gimp. The shoes are held together with press-fit nickel-plated brass rivets.
Jeffrey Campbell Clinic Wedges
These are surprisingly comfortable, I promise you! I've walked around in them for hours on end. The mirror on the wedge and shape of the heel give these a futuristic look. They are the perfect pair of shoes 2 edge up an outfit!

The back of the tines is where the decoration is, that's because of the way Europeans hold their forks compared to the way Americans do. To the left of the decoration the marks are from the bigorne or anvil that was used to back mark the piece when the hall marks were placed on the front of the fork. GoodWill totally missed out on this one.
