Colloidal Silver Pets
- A pure mineral element from the earth, utilised for its incredible anti-bacterial & purifying properties. Used primarily in deodorants & some skincare, it helps to reduce & kill the bacteria that surrounds the sweat glands & causes odour or skin blemishes.
- The medical uses of silver include its incorporation into wound dressings to treat external infections, and its use as an antiseptic and disinfectant in medical appliances. There is however insufficient evidence to support its use in wound healing.
- a suspension of submicroscopic metallic silver particles in a colloidal base. Long-term use of silver preparations can lead to argyria, a condition in which silver salts deposit in the skin, eyes, and internal organs, and the skin turns ashen-gray.
- A fit of sulking or ill humor
- (pet) stroke or caress gently; "pet the lamb"

Secrets of Gaia Key To My Heart Necklace Silver
I am very proud to present this beautiful necklace to the public. As a vendor in the Greatest Love Grid Wide Hunt I decided I was curios both of where and how other vendors chose to hide thier boxes (now that I have a shop actually big enough to hide it at all if I chose to) and also what other vendors were giving out. I have met some amazing people while hunting down these heart boxes and finally after finishing went back to my workshop to start opening them. The first one I opened was this amazing gown from Passionate Neko Designs. It's absolutely beautiful and after unpacking it and putting it on I was inspired with an idea for a new necklace. So on the back burner went all the unpacking and sorting of gifts and onto my pose stand I went, several hours later after creating the necklace and hand aligning the dangling chain then adding the hearts, heart shaped padlocks and keys to both the central chain in the front and the clasp location of the back this is what I have this stunning necklace. I really must say I may have outdone myself this time I often think less of my items then others do but for once I am truly loving this piece so I do hope you all do as well. I know that Saur Holt the designer from Passionate Neko Designs loves it and I have certainly made a new friend after sending her a little thank you note for the beautiful gown and telling her she had inspired the necklace.
To all the other Vendors who's gifts I will certainly get to thank you for the gifts, the friendships, and the creativity you bring to SL that makes this amazing world as wonderful and beautiful as it is ... never forget this is a world created by the users and for the users, without those of us with the vision and creativity creating more each day it would grow stale and wither away!
To all the hunters I have met while hunting, in the hunt group chat, or who have said hi while I was in the shop, I do deeply hope you enjoy your gifts and thank you all for participating. I have met many of you, some helped me locate boxes I was stuck on, others I have helped along the way ('go go gadget jeweler cam" yes those jewelery skills come in handy in all kinds of ways lol) thank you for being you... every one of us makes SL what it is even if your not a creator, we would have no one to create for if people like you didn't choose to buy from us. I for one am always appreciative when someone chooses my items to decorate thier second life environment!
Silver Hearts
Submitted to Macro Mondays under Metallic Surfaces
I love heart shapes, to the extent that if I see heart shaped jewellery I can't not buy it. It doesn't have to be expensive, just shiny :-) This particular one is silver (and was a present from my beloved for Christmas), but none of the others are.

HOW TO SELL SILVER COINS : HOW TO SELL
HOW TO SELL SILVER COINS : SILVER ROSE CHARMS : CANADIAN JUNK SILVER
How To Sell Silver Coins
- (Silver, Coin) Silver items manufactured until approximately mid-19th Century. Made from melted down European silver coins, this metal is approximately 90% silver. Because of the content of other metals, coin silver items are harder (resist bending and dents) and don’t tarnish as quickly.
- Code name for cocaine, a popular adjunct to the coin business during the boom years of the 1970s and 1980s. "Do you have any silver coins for sale?" Devotees often took to carrying about on their persons small nasal spray bottles filled with a mixture of cocaine and water.
- Silver coins are possibly the oldest mass form of coinage in recorded history. Silver has been used as a coinage metal since the times of the Greeks. Their silver drachmas were popular trade coins.
- Providing detailed and practical advice
- A how-to or a how to is an informal, often short, description of how to accomplish some specific task. A how-to is usually meant to help non-experts, may leave out details that are only important to experts, and may also be greatly simplified from an overall discussion of the topic.
- Practical advice on a particular subject; that gives advice or instruction on a particular topic
- (How To’s) Multi-Speed Animations
- exchange or deliver for money or its equivalent; "He sold his house in January"; "She sells her body to survive and support her drug habit"
- (of a thing) Be purchased
- Give or hand over (something) in exchange for money
- the activity of persuading someone to buy; "it was a hard sell"
- be sold at a certain price or in a certain way; "These books sell like hot cakes"
- Have a stock of (something) available for sale
Tiberius (AD 14-37). Denarius reverse die from the Lugdunum mint.
Tiberius (AD 14-37). Denarius reverse die from the Lugdunum mint. Case-hardened bronze, with a silver denarius of Tiberius ("Tribute Penny" type) stuck in place, obverse showing. Overall dimensions: diameter: 31.5 mm, height 37 mm, weight 161.16 grams. In custom wood and glass presentation case.
From the Rubicon Collection. Ex Stack's Saint Ludovico Collection sale, 22 April 2009, originally from a European collection in Poule-les-Echarmaux, France.
While a number of forger's dies have survived from Roman times, only a handful of "official" coin dies are currently known to exist. French numismatists Jean-Baptist Giard and J. Lafaurie have surveyed surviving examples and determined that 12 coin dies can be confirmed as official mint products; interestingly, 11 of these are from the important imperial mint of Lugdunum (modern Lyon) in France. Six dies were unearthed in Auxerre in 1799, four of which are now in the Bibliotech Nationale coin cabinet; the other two reside at the Musee de la Monnaie in Paris. Four more were found in 1863 at Paray-le-Monial and also now reside in museums. One was found at Vertault; our specimen comes from an old collection in Poule-les-Echarmaux, in the same area. The die is of identical fabric and metal composition to the other known examples, confirming that it is an official die. The presence of a silver denarius in the obverse indicates that during the course of striking, a denarius became lodged in the reverse die and caused the striking of an indeterminate number of brockages (a mint error in which the obverse or reverse of a coin is repeated, in relief and incuse, on both sides of the coin). The flattening around the edges of the denarius indicates that a fair number of brockages were struck in this fashion, driving the coin ever deeper into the reverse die. When attempts to dislodge the coin failed (indicated by gouges before the portrait), the die was discarded and possibly secretly removed by a mint worker as a souvenir. Thus we have an exceedingly rare opportunity to acquire an official Roman coin die, while at the same time demonstrating how brockages were produced in ancient times! Estimate: $10,000 - $15,000. Sold for 23,000 Educational Use Only-From web member
Muduppers2
The history of the Shirehampton mud-uppers dates back to at least the early 14th century when early records mention a group of families who claimed exclusive rights to the shellfish that were found along the banks of the Avon around Shirehampton in the mud between the high and low watermarks. The families appear to have joined together to jointly enforce their claimed rights and there are many records of rough justice being meted out to those unfortunate enough to have been found infringing them. It is believed that this is how nearby Hung Road came by its macabre name. The rights of the mud-uppers were formalised in 1689 by William of Orange in recognition of the assistance given to him by the mud –uppers on his journey from Brixham. This set down the rights by charter and used the term ”mud-upper” for the first time, presumably derived from the title of the keepers of the royal swans. An interesting footnote is that this charter inadvertently prohibited the use of machinery in harvesting the “bountie of the River Avon by theyre own hande” and even today, the traditions are upheld and the harvest continues manually. Another tradition from that time survives and the modern day mud-uppers will still happily dance the traditional Shirehampton mud jig for tourists and passers by in return for the traditional silver coin. Today’s mud-uppers are descended from the original families, the right passing from father to oldest son. An interesting development is that nowadays, instead of surviving on the meagre harvest of shellfish, the mud-uppers harvest the mud itself which they sell to exclusive health spas and beauty therapists around the world because of its reputed rejuvenative qualities. The traditional mud-upping ceremonies are performed on most Saturday mornings throughout the year and visitors are welcome to watch and learn about these quaint local customs. To find these ceremonies, take Station Road from the Portway and follow it to its end by the Lamplighters public house. Opposite, there is a historic cobbled slipway where the ceremonies are held

Woven Bezel Attempt #2
It's obvious I need a good craft lamp. These pix were taken in my new home-made light box with two compact fluorescent lights as outside light sources. It rained all day and I didn't get the lovely mid-afternoon sun I usually do. The color of these pix is much too yellow, but maybe I can fix this in Picnik. PS wasn't much help.
This is a fossil I had lying around that I decided to wrap in argentium silver wire, 20 and 28 gauge. I did this pendant in about 2.5 hours during art class today.
I saw what I did wrong on the wrap last time and fixed it so it's a little more even on this one, but long, thin, pointy stones are not the easiest things to wrap and I had trouble making the bezel even on the top. I also chipped the top of the point off the stone while fitting it into the bezel. I guess it had a fracture in it somewhere.
I think it's not a bad effort. I don't like that it's lopsided, but this fossil wasn't cut symmetrically, either, so I think I can honestly pass off some of the blame on the person who cut and polished the fossil.
Not bad, but not quite good enough to sell. I think this one's a keeper for myself.
Working Smoky Glass Lamp Base
This is a wonderful lamp base that has ornate feet made of silver plated zinc, topped by a smoky glass globe and finally the stem to hold the light bulb and shade.
The metal parts of the lamp are showing signs of age and a serious lack of polishing.
The glass globe itself is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips. The lamp does work. It was manufactured in Italy and stands approximately 10" tall, by 5" wide.

The Cook's Bunk At the Abandoned Vulture Mine Near Wickenburg, Arizona
This is a photograph that I took of the old and rusty bed frame of the bunk that belonged to one of the cooks inside the cookhouse on the grounds of the abandoned Vulture Mine outside of the town of Wickenburg, Arizona. The life of a cook at a mine was not easy. The cook was expected to wake up before everybody else so that breakfast would be ready for everyone before they began working. Then, after cleaning up the mess left behind after breakfast, lunch had to be prepared and then supper. By the time the clean up from supper was completed, it was time to go to bed so that the whole process could start all over again the next day. There also wasn't any air conditioning in this kitchens, either.
The Vulture Mine was the most productive gold and silver mine in Arizona history. During its operation from 1863 until 1942, it produced 340,000 ounces of gold and 260,000 ounces of silver. However, the mine was plagued by many problems during its history. It was the target of numerous Indian attacks, raids by ruthless highwaymen, and was almost constantly subjected to the hardships related to the lack of a viable water supply. There were also numerous mining fatalities here as well as the hanging of thieves who tried to illegally mine gold (these types of thieves were known as “high graders.”) The mine was equipped with a small jail and a hanging tree to deal with such offenders.
Operations at the mine officially ceased in 1942 per executive order issued by President Franklin D. Roosevelt. The miners thought that they would be returning within six months, but operations never resumed. Today, the mine is privately owned and has an eerily quiet presence to it as though everyone simply got up and walked away, leaving everything behind. The owner allows you to tour the grounds, but they inform you that you do so at your own risk because it is a dangerous place. There is still many millions of dollars worth of gold and silver there.
Midnight's bed!
Midnight world! You can see: His litter pan in the rear corner, beside it, stash #1, on the right side of the pillow barely in frame is stash #2. The bookbag is one of his fav seepy spots, the towels were given to him to cuddle up in while "HIS" bedding was being washed lol. And of course his feeding area. Off frame to the right is the PVC tube he uses to get on and off the bed. He's going to be 29 months old this month. I only hope I'm as spoiled when I hit 70 years old lol!

By the end of the day, went out for a tea with Maria and Vannia, and then dinner at a comfy Moroccan restaurant in Malasana.

Opalite Sterling Silver Wire Wrapped Ring
I totally love opalite and couldn't resist making a ring with the gorgeous bead. To me it looks like the reflections in a reflective pool of water, with lovely hues of pinks and blues throughout it.
I used sterling silver wire and a 1/2 inch square bead to make this ring.
