Once masked, paint the next colour of the design. If you have more than two colours, I recommend doing the lightest first and working to the darkest. Once you are satisfied with how many coats of paint you have, remove the maskings while the paint is STILL WET!! Othwise the paint will tear and peal as you pull the masking off. Voila! A rough ride Project 365(3) Day 175
It seems there is always something that needs fixing or replacing these days.
This is the "hoover" for the bottom of the pool and as you can see this wheel has self destructed. In fact both of the front wheels are the same. That does make it rather difficult to trundle across the bottom of the pool.
Fortunately, the blue plastic ends are removable and so hopefully I should be able to get replacement parts rather than have to buy a complete new unit.
PS This is a manual sweeper which you have to push forwards and backwards across the pool until you have covered it all. It connects via a hose to a vacuum point at the side of the pool to suck debris up, has a nylon brush underneath to scrub the grouting and wiper blades to clean the tiles.
For lazy beggars (or those with large pools) you can buy electric cleaners that rove along the bottom of the pool and the walls automatically but at a starting price of about ?1,000 they are way beyond my budget!

Memory Spark
The Chute Lake Resort has a barn full of timeless treasures and interesting junk that I love to look at. I like imagining what it was used for and how it ever came to be in this remote area. Everything is arranged willynilly. I think it's all for sale but I've never heard a single "How may I help you?" wafting through the air.
Memory Spark. As a kid, my 2 brothers and I shared/fought over one pair of these adjustable roller skates. No doubt my parents were thrilled with the economical one-size-fits-all aspect. Unfortunately we lived in the country and could only use them on the most packed down areas of the gravel road. My mom was a nurse.

Jensen 541 R
In 1955, Jensen started production of Neale's masterpiece, the 541, which used the then-revolutionary material of fiberglass for its bodywork. The 541 was replaced by another Neale design, the CV8 in 1962, which replaced the Austin-sourced straight-6 of the previous cars with a 6 litre American Chrysler V8. This large engine in such a lightweight car made the Jensen one of the fastest four-seaters of the time.
The Jensen 541R is a closed four-seater GT-class car built in the United Kingdom by Jensen between 1957 to 1960.
The original aluminium prototype appeared in 1953 as the 541 at the London Motor Show, although this changed to glassfibre for all production cars. Within a year, the new 541 had already earned rave reviews from magazines, notably Autocar, whose testers drove the grand tourer to a top speed of over 125 mph (200 km/h). It was the fastest four-seater the magazine had ever tested at the time.
The 541R employed a low-revving four-litre straight-six from the Austin Sheerline. The suspension system came from the Austin A70 with independent suspension by coil springs at the front and a live axle with half-elliptic springs at the rear. The 541R, introduced in 1957, differed from the 541 by using rack & pinion steering instead of a cam-and-roller system, and large disc brakes were used on all four wheels.
The car's styling was by Jensen's designer Eric Neale, and was not only considered attractive, but was aerodynamically efficient too; a Cd figure of only 0.39 was recorded, which became the lowest figure at Jensen. The body covered a chassis built by bracing 5-inch (12.7 cm) tubes with a mixture of steel pressings and cross-members to create a platform.
The 1957 model carried the DS7 version of the Austin Sheerline's four-litre motor equipped with twin carburetors on its right side. The cylinder head was reworked for the lifted compression ratio of 7.6:1 and a "long dwell". The engine had a raised output to 150 hp (112 kW) at 4100 rpm and 210 lb·ft (285 N·m). Only 53 cars were built with the engine.
In total Jensen built 193 541Rs before it was succeeded in 1961 by the Jensen 541S. This was similar to the 541R, but with a larger body and a Rolls-Royce automatic gearbox, and only 127 cars were built before the model was discontinued to be replaced by the CV8.
[edit] Performance
When the Jensen 541R was tested by The Autocar magazine in January 1958 it achieved their highest maximum speed for a four seater car at 127.5 mph (205.2 km/h). It was conducted in below freezing conditions with a "stiff diagonal breeze". 0–60 mph was recorded at 10.6 seconds with fuel consumption at 18 mpg-imp (16 L/100 km; 15 mpg-US) overall with the normal range given as 15 mpg-imp (19 L/100 km; 12 mpg-US)–24 mpg-imp (12 L/100 km; 20 mpg-US).

Raleigh Rebuild: scaper paint rake
I had originally intended to paint the frame in Beautitone's Smoke Grey colour. However, after my brother advised painting the wheels white, or rather at all, a failed search for white walled tires in 27" and having grown fond of the bare metal, at last minute I bought "aluminum" coloured paint.
The metal was really pitted from the year of rust, so the Beautitone Rust Coat primer went on as a running mess. I had to sand it right off the crossbar and respray it with some Duplicolour polyester filler primer, which went on like a dream. A smooth dream.

Busted Wheel
Mom's Radio Flyer has busted a wheel. It's a plastic wheel, about 9" in diameter. Radio Flyer has discontinued this replacement part, and will only sell me four metal wheels for a not-so-cheap price. So now I'm hoping anyone reading this might know where I can get my hands on a replacement. Even a used one...

This picture shows the 1941 GMC CCKW 352, 535 YUD, owned by Mr T Batchelor from Crewkerne, Somerset. This particular vehicle saw service in Europe after D Day with the 82nd Airborne Division. It has been restored to original condition.
The GMC CCKW 352 is a 2.5 ton 6x6 lorry. It was built in long and short-wheelbase versions and the vehicle shown here is a short-wheel base version.
