Mačka 
Pripitomljavanjemačke počelo je u Africi prije 7000 godina.Domaća mačka (Felis catus catus),zvjer koja pripada porodici mačaka(Felidae),vrsta je kojoj pripadaju sve postojeće pasmine.One se međusobno razlikuju samo po boji, duljini, kvaliteti dlake i njenim šarama te u manjim osobnostima kostura.Vid je mačaka u polumraku šest puta bolji od ljutskog, a posebno razvijeno osjetilo im je i sluh.Osjet mirisa u mačaka vrlo je važan tjekom parenja,a inače nije osobito razvijen.
Pas
Pas (Canis familiaris) je zvijer iz porodice pasa (Canidae),a drži se da je predak psa bila živiotinja slična vuku.Dosad pronađeni dokazi potvrđuju teoriju da je pas pripitomljen prijenajmanje 50 000 godina , a vrlo vjerovatno i prije 100 0000 godina.Žive u prosjeku 15 godina, a ponekad dožive i 20.Ovisno o pasmini, odrasli pas može težiti 2 do 99kg, i doseći visinu u ramenom pojasu od 12,5 do 90 cm.Psima je glavno osjetilo njuh,a različitim je pokusima ustanovljeno da ne raspoznaju spektar boja od žute do crvene. Danas Kennel Club iz Velike Britanije priznaje 165 različitih pasmina pasa koji podijeljeni u 2 velike skupine:
sportske i ostale pasmine pasa, a svaka je grupa podijeljena u 3 razreda.
U sportske pse ubrajamo goničke pse, retrivere (donašače) i terijere (kopače), a druga kategorija obuhvaća radne pse, patuljaste pse i pse za pratnju.
