Most folks are about as happy as they make up their minds to be.
This is the challenge of writing. You have to be very emotionally engaged in what you?re doing, or it comes out flat. You can?t fake your way through this.
A few seconds later, I tripped over a steel staircase, bashing my shins.
A lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it: it would be hell on earth.
By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you'll discover will be wonderful. What you'll discover will be yourself.
Fresh clean sheets are one of life's small joys.
