EPIDEMIJA DIJABETESA U AZIJI
Uobičajena vrsta dijabetesa (Tip 2) dosegla je razinu epidemije u azijskim zemljama i napada ljude puno manje dobne skupine nego na Zapadu. U Aziji se ta bolest razvila puno brže nego u ostatku svijeta. Znanstvenici u najvećoj mjeri okrivljuju zapadnjački model načina života i fast food koji su sve popularniji u azijskim zemljama.
Do 2025. godine, 333 milijuna ljudi oboljet će od dijabetesa. Trenutačno je u svijetu registrirano 194 milijuna oboljelih. Kina i Indija imat će najveći broj oboljelih i to oko 20 milijuna svaka.
