IZNIMNO RANA SNJEŽNA MEĆAVA ZATRPALA DRŽAVU NEW YORK - PALO 22cm SNIJEGA

Iznimno rana snježna mećava praćena udarima groma i munjama pogodila je jučer Buffalo u SAD-u. Teški mokri snijeg prekrio je zapad države New York i ostavio oko 390 000 kućanstva bez električne energije i vode. U prvih 24 sata izbilo je oko 30 požara, uglavnom zbog sagorjelih svijeća i generatora. Lokalne vlasti traže od predsjednika Busha da proglasi stanje elementarne nepogode za okruge Erie, Genesee, Niagara i Orleans. U četvrtak je palo 22cm snijega - to je bio najsnježniji listopadni dan u Buffalu u 137-godišnjoj povijesti meteorološke službe. Prijašnji rekord bio je onaj iz 1917. godine kada je palo 15 cm snijega.
