New York, New York

Start spreading the news
I'm leaving today
I want to be a part of it, New York, New York
These vagabond shoes
Are longing to stray
And make a brand new start of it
New York, New York
I want to wake up in the city that never sleeps
To find I'm king of the hill, top of the heap
These little town blues
Are melting away
I'll make a brand new start of it
In old New York
If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you, New York, New York.

I’m still feeling overwhelming from visiting New York for the first time. As we went to do business we didn’t have time to explore at all, but at least we were there…standing in the middle of Broadway Street, rehearsing in front of Macy’s big department store for Parade and feeling like it’s just a big dream.

In the morning, logistics team had a little sketch on New York’s issue today as logistically, we didn’t have time to wonder around taking photos (although that was the hardiest part for me).

In the morning and after lunch we were rehearsing for parade and also during lunch time we had big cast lost&found auction sale which was a lot of fun. Finally we got rid of all stuff from lost&found and we raised some good amount of money for final banquet.

Around 4PM we hit the road to New York. Wow, it was really exciting driving in bus in 5th avenue Street and seeing all shops and just feeling from bus how is it to be part of New York is. Everyone warned me that New York is quite different culture than every other part of US and that New York is culture by itself and so far I can say that no one lied about it.

At 6PM we were at Broadway Street and we were waiting for our line of rehearsal for Macy’s Parade. We rehearsed twice in front of Macy’s and it was much fun. I still cannot believe that this is happening. I mean, for us Europeans, Macy’s parade is not big deal at all as I have never heard about it before, but for US people its huge deal. Today we got a little bit of taste what it is Macy’s parade and I really got super excited about it.

We had our dinner at Macy’s restaurant and after dinner we left New York to reach Suffern until 10PM.

Last days are so busy and education team assigned us paper work on theme Peace for UN with tomorrow’s deadline and it’s so hard to find time to write that, especially as I don’t want to do lousy work. Well, if I want to go to sleep soon, I should probably start writing it.
