Andrew Bynum to undergo knee procedure in Germany

The Philadelphia 76ers’ recently-acquired Andrew Bynum will undergo a knee procedure in Germany despite reports that he is healthy again, according to John Mitchell of The Philadelphia Inquirer.

Mitchell said Bynum isn’t experiencing any pain in his knees and he’s merely going to Germany for the non-surgical procedure to stay proactive about maintaining their health. Bynum supposedly made the decision after seeing the success Kobe Bryant had this past season after undergoing a knee procedure in Germany as well:

According to the source, Bynum is not feeling any pain in his knees. However, the center wants to explore any options that will help to prolong the healthy status of his knees. According to the source, Bynum was so impressed with the results that Bryant experienced last season that he agreed that exploring the procedure was a viable option.

Bynum has missed over 120 games from 2007 – 2011. The Los Angeles Clippers’ Grant Hill and New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez have had the same “experimental procedure” that Bryant underwent.
