Tokio Hotel are angry: „We are not Emo, we are rockers!“

While Tokio Hotel are becoming from german singing band into english singing band, music critics, who until now didn’t interested in them are interesting right now into what category to give them. What about boys? They all the time like to speak about their music, do you want to know, which their songs they love and why? And how much Georg and Gustav jealous at popular twins?

Tom: „I started to play guitar because of girl.“
Did you sometimes think of why boys started to learn at instruments and they loved it so much, they started to be a band? It was from love to music or because of girls? A little from both, they say. „I liked one girl and she told me she loves boys who play on guitar. But I didn’t know how to play guitar even didn’t know how to hold it in my hands,“ remember Tom. So he bought guitar and started to learn. „But it wasn’t just because of girl. And in time, when I started to play a little I didn’t meet that girl anymore. But I stood at guitar – I started to interested in it.“ Gustav’s way to drums was little bit normal. „My dad was player, we had in our house drums. I often tried it and in time I learnt something and when dad told me I am good in it I realized, that I am interesting in it, so I started to interesting in it more.“ Georg tried to find something for free time. „I knew I want to interest in music. But I didn’t know in what way. One day I saw in TV some bass player and told to myself – that’s it! I started to learn at music lessons. It started with one lesson per week and in the end it was three lessons per week. And thanks to this I am where I am.“ And how Bill figured out he can sing? „Actually with this came my mother,“ remembering frontman TH. „That is true, he always must at family parties sang for fun – I laughed him because of it,“ laugh Tom. „But it didn’t stand only at family parties, to became a rocker of me, but I would say she can be proud on both of us.“

Georg: „Yes, I am not so popular like twins and that’s good!“
Twins are the main part of Tokio Hotel, it is very known, but how Gustav and Georg handle this situation, it wasn’t until now so much in discuss. Specially Gustav, who is hidden behind drums. How boys taking the fact that media are interesting more at Bill and Tom than on them? „Bill with Tom are so popular because they are extravagant, so they are more on eyes and more interesting for media. Girls are great and taking us like a band, at the concerts I have no feeling I am there for nothing. And that is good.“ And Georg take this the same way. „I know very well, that I am not so popular like twins. Even from reactions from fans I can feel they want specially them. And it is good. I am happy with my position – to be in bigger popularity I would have probably problems, so there is nothing what to discuss.“

„We don’t think we have Emo image.“
Boys are in last weeks angry because of some music critics. They started to „finally“ interesting in them, but for TH it would be better if they would ignore them. „I don’t know why are they speak about us like Emo band. We personally don’t care, but our fans don’t know, what to think. So we want to say that we don’t feel like Emo band. Often they call us also punkers but that is also not right. We are rockers! I don’t think we have Emo image,“ says Bill.

Tom: „Song Reden is my favourite, because it is about me.“
At their concerts boys enjoy every song. They themselves say that they have their popular songs and they enjoy them at the stage much more then other songs inside. „I always look forward to Reden. It is song about me and what I had with one girl in hotel room number 483 you can think about the rest alone. I also love Spring nicht.“ „I can agree with my brother. Spring nicht is very emocional and feel song about brother love. It is about that if Tom jump I jump too,“ explain Bill. Georg say about energy song Übers Ende der Welt. „It is super fast song with great melody – I always enjoy it!“ And Gustav? „I have it clear. Everything started with Durch den Monsun. And this song can until now do really hot between our fans
