On the other side is the Winged knelling Goddess holding up a golden disk, The Kneeling Goddess is to Show she serves mankind ,The disk to show she is the keeper Knowledge and wisdom , The wings That she is a protector maternal figure .

This leafy ring is design # 24 in my Ring a Day series. I combined a desert patterned wood bead with seed bead leaves to create a palm-like effect. The beaded focal measures a bountiful 3.5 cm, or 1.4 inches, across.

Photographing this ring was a huge challenge and I feel that I need to try some more things still. The pearl has a perfect reflection of the camera and tripod at the lower front and you can even make out the floral drapes in the back edge of the pearl. This was done in natural light. Tonight I will try some things with my lighting setups.

Designer Details:
No two binders will be alike.
I hand altered this cover using Bo Bunny gift of love collection. The paper has been laminated and secured onto the cover and is easy to keep clean with a damp cloth. The chipboard flourish and flower embellishments have been adhered with an indoor/outdoor clear household silicone. The handmade divider sections are made from sturdy card stock with a laminated coordinating tab. Two cute tags hang from the front binder, one says "My Recipe Collection". A decorated binder clip is included and can be used in a number of ways: use it to hold your recipe on the binder or on the counter (see photo), use it to hold your new recipe to try or shopping list, or just as an embellishment!

Practical Details:
The 3 ring binder made by Mead is 10” by 11.5” and the cover and back are flexible. The cover flips to the back just like a spiral notebook making it easy to fit onto the countertop! But because it is a binder you can add and change it as needed. I created the following tabbed sections: Appetizers & Beverages, Breads & Breakfast, Soup, Salads, & Sandwiches, Meat, Chicken, & Seafood, Veggies & Sides, Desserts, and Holiday & Parties. You also get two flexible plastic divider note pockets to use for recipes to try or take-out menus and you can store extra recipe cards in the handy extra clear pockets. The large tag:
1. Cut a plant or other motif from an old Dictionary with EK Success Photo Labels Punch.
2. Cut the tag shape from a random book with the largest of the three Emagination Tag Punches. Cut another tag shape from paper or card (patterned or plain depending on if you wish to write on the back side) and glue it on the back of the tag to make it more robust (book pages are too thin paper to stand alone as a large tag).
3. Ink the edges of the tag (front and back side both) and the plant motive. I used Sepia from Archival Ink. Glue the plant motive in place.
4. Cut a hole in brown wrapping paper with the kind of a hole punch one uses to make holes to file papers in ring binders. Mine punches 4/20" holes but after finishing this project I found in a craft store an EK success small punch that punches only slightly smaller (3/16") holes which I plan to use from now on. Center a 1/2 inch circle punch around the first hole and punch out the reinforcer ring.
5. Glue the reinforcer ring in place. Remove the bottom from your binder hole punch and flip it around to see what you punch. Punch through the middle of the reinforcer's hole.

The small tag:
1. Stamp little images on the margins of an old yellowed book. I used Colorbox Sepia Black ink.
2. Cut tag shapes from the stamped margins with the smallest of the three Emagination Tag Punches by aligning the punch with the stamped image. Choose a book that has pages made of thick sturdy paper so you dont have to back up the tags.
3. Make rings as above but with smaller punches to scale with a smaller tag. I used Fiskars hand punches. The larger is 1/4" and smaller 1/8".
4. Glue on the reinforcer ring. Punch through its middle. To be able to see what you punch and position the hand punch it pays to just rip off the top of the confetti collectors lid. At least in the Fiskars punches this is possible, mind you, there is no way to re-attatch the lid.

The reinforcers are punched from brown paper collected from paper recycling box (yeah I know, I know, dumpster chick, lol). The distributors of papers and ads get their lots wrapped in this beautiful thick brown paper that I just can't resist. For such faux-antique crafts the brown coarse paper has just the right feel. And the "real" tag hole reinforcer rings are always exactly this hue of brown so I just must have it :)

This was custom order for Cheryl in Dayton New Jersey usa

The skull was carver from TN River shell. In the wall of the shell was a large bump in the other wise smooth surface. I cut it out and carver this skull from it. the colors rang from transparent, Bright white, gray white to golden. On the skeletal hand I mounted a small diamond in gold. The ring is 9.2 size.

A birthday present from my best friend Charlotte. Thanks Charlotte I LOVE it! And it fits perfectly too, I didn't even had to adjust it!

There's a gorgeous bronze chain that came with it so it can be worn as a necklace too, but I prefer wearing it as a ring :)

This self inking stamp is ideal for rapid, repetitive stamping because the die automatically re-inks itself by rotating into a self-contained, double-sided ink pad. This is a custom ring I made for a friend. The band is metal clay. Fired flat and then soldered at the ends. The bezel "cup" is a piece of copper wire that I hammered flat and soldered to the band. Inside is a green garnet YAG. Around the band, I wanted to give it a rusty, decayed look. I thought about flowing copper solder in the texture, but that doesn't work the way I want it to. Instead, I filled it with transparent Chestnut Thompson enamel. It kind of balled up, and I'm not sure why. However, I love the look it gave! The enamel also opalized a bit on the edges and has this amazing green color! The close up pictures kind of make it look messy, but it really isn't.

A co-worker commissioned me to make this custom chain maille finger ring for her. It was made with sterling silver and gold filled rings hand cut and coiled by me in a Japanese 12-2 weave.

The history of amber begins about 90 millions years ago in lush green forests in the region of modern day Northern Europe. Trees in these regions produced an aromatic resin, used for protection against woodpeckers, fungus and bark-eating insects. This resin would slowly cascade covering the bark of the tree entrapping organic debris and sometimes live insects along the way. Nearly 40 different species of trees produced this protective resin, accounting for the numerous colors of amber today. Over millions of years, this golden resin produced by pre-historic trees accumulated in many layers in the soil below. With the onset of The Great Ice Age, these forests perished, the soil froze and the fossilization process began creating deposits of beautiful amber. I became a mom March 12th 2008 to my beautiful baby girl, Leilani Kiana. I had an easy pregnancy, never once got morning sickness (just lots of headaches). Birth was painfree for the most part (gotta love epidurals :D). She weighed 7lbs 2oz and was 19 inches long. Her ambilical cord was wrapped around her neck 3 times, but she came out happy and healthy. Now she's 2 years old and so much fun to be around. She is full of personality. I love everyday I get to spend with my daughter. I'm just rambling. . . Anyway, I'm a proud mommy. And I hope all you other moms have a great day!

On this picture she is the person on the very right. She used to be a member of a sports club in the twenties and thirties of the last century. I like this photo very much because you see so many laughing faces on it.

I made this ring pillow for my friend's wedding. Her colour is burgundy so it is a bit darker than a real pomegranate. It worked out perfectly because the rings fit over the stem and the points keep the rings from falling off! That's one of my favorite quotes and one that we used on our wedding program (which really seems like yesterday); but we celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary on June 24th while in Vegas. Much to Todd's chagrin, we renewed our vows on our 5th anniversary in New Orleans; so this year, I wanted to renew again for our 10th...he wasn't so into it until we stumbled across the Harley Davidson Chopper Chapel (I'm not below using his love of Harleys as bribery!). Artist Trading Cards Joint Art Mail Swap

An Artist Trading Card JAMS is a unique swap for 3 artists. To participate in a JAMS, you should join a ATC group where a JAMS participant database is available. The database includes addresses as well as names, themes, and preferences. Often JAMS arrive in the mail unannounced so its often a happy surprise!

To participate in a JAMS, ARTIST 1 creates a set of 3 cards which are similar. Sometimes this is just a matter of selecting a decorative paper and cutting it to the right size. The best JAMS however are original artwork by each artist.

ARTIST 1 then selects a participant from the database and sends the set to ARTIST 2. ARTIST 2 adds similar or identical work to each card in the set. Once again, the best art is original so I don't believe identical is necessary or even preferred. Some artists will argue this point. After adding their work ARTIST 2 places their name and contact information on the back of each card and selects another participant from the database to mail the set to.

The third participant becomes ARTIST 3. It is ARTIST 3's job to finish the set. Often thins includes, borders, sealers or surface embellishments. Again identical or original is the artists choice. I prefer unique and original but similar.

ARTIST 3 then keeps one card and mails the other two back to ARTIST 1. ARTIST 1 then must keep one and mail the final card to ARTIST 2. Often when returns or "homers" are mailed, a new JAMS set is included. In this way the JAMmin never stops! It's great fun, very relaxing and an easy way to get more cards in your ATC collection.

This set was really easy. The purple background is cut from a three ring binder one of my students tossed at the end of the year. I just stuck a felted heart sticker top center and cut these to size. I think they will make beautiful JAMS.

June 6, 2010. 23 years since last starting my 1969-model Yamaha AS2 (125cc twin) I rode her to the 10th International Classic Motorcycle Show at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire, UK. The 80km round trip went flawlessly, and the bike behaved impeccably. The only frustration was having to keep revs at (or below) 5,000 RPM as I need to run-in the new pistons and rings. The bike clearly wants to be revved and will then deliver! Loved it. On the ride home, I spotted this great Victorian bridge close to Welwyn Garden City, and had to stop to take some photographs.

Today I had to go get my nose gauged. And it really really fucking sucked. I recommend to anyone with a nose piercing to never get a nose ring smaller than a 16 gauge... Because when you have to get a new ring, getting your nose gauged is a bitch. But I had Lorna and Kathleen with me today so I could hold their hands. You can kind of see my new stud, it's light purple. Yeehaw.

Afterwards I got an arizona, as you can see in the photo. And it's amazing. Also, Delaney cut my hair the other day, and not to suck my own dick, but I really kind of like it.
