My macro lens is finally fixed and ready for action! Oh how happy that makes me. I am sorry for lack of updates but I didn't get a chance to take my camera out and I had a 10 day visit from a great friend from Croatia. Since sleeping wasn't in my schedule for that period of time, I needed to get some rest and regroup. So here I am giving you a glimpse of a few things I did this Sunday.
Maybe I never talked about the most impressive food store I have seen since I came to New York - Agata and Valentina - an absolute winner. It is owned by Italians and you can see foods from all regions of the country. They even sell the Sicilian Regaleali wine coming from a winery I visited past year. But believe it or not, I loveo to go there for their croissants and I am very critical when it comes down to that. If someone asks me what my favorite thing to eat is, it would be a croissant. Good croissant.
I know that the next step in my career will be work with laminated doughs. Soon, you will see a perfect croissant from the lamination queen :)
I also tried Ricotta and Olive Oil gelato made in house. Fantastic combination, but the flavors didn't come out as I expected. It was a bit starchy because they used confectioners sugar.
But then I had my favorite tomato, basil and olive oil focaccia. Mmmmm, thick crust soaked with tomato juice and olive oil with lots of tomatoes on top.
After a short stop there, I picked a perfect place to go during the Gay pride - Chelsea - In case you didn't know, that area is in general known for that, but especially that day and the night before. It felt like I entered an unknown world, but I am still glad I went. The reason I was there is because of Chelsea Market, that I spoke about multiple times. I visited a hige kitchen store to buy a few things and also got a refreshing treat at One Lucky Duck, a raw juice bar. My drink of choice was a shot of Wheatgrass followed by a banana-cashew milk-vanilla and cinnamon smoothie. Delish. Highly recommended!
After that I had to make a stop to a tiny artisanal cheese store - Lucy's Whey - where they also sell unique caramels (not that I am a huge fan, but this is way too cute), and me being a crazy goat fan...There ya go.
