A day in Chinatown

I spent a fantastic day in Chinatown in Brooklyn visiting a good friend of mine who took me on a tour and showed me all these amazing places and crazy food that I have never tasted before. It is a culture I was never really in touch with so it was a whole new experience.
From Bubble Tea, Pineapple buns, Different dumplings, tofu skewer...The whole atmosphere is so different, a lot more laid back, I honestly felt I was in China.

Here are some things that I managed to capture before I ate it!!

(I did not eat these, but as you can see on the photo before, I had raw shrimp. Just peel it, dip in in a soy/wasabi sauce and there you go. Can you imagine a Mediterranean girl first time eating raw shrimp...I wasn't too crazy about it)

Pork dumplings!!! Oh my, you don't understand until you try it. It is one of THE best things I have ever had. Especially when you see the dough and other noodles being made in front of you.

Beef and tofu skewers with a spicy seasonings. Very good, very clean (not like the regular Kebab stands you see)

I am kinda in love with the purple potato :)

Annnd, a century egg (it is usually preserved in a mixture of clay, ash, salt, lime, and rice hulls for several weeks to several months). Yep, it looks very unappetizing but believe it or not, it was fantastic!
