Since I am not in the bakeshops as much as I was before, and I am mostly surrounded with Accounting, Marketing and other classes, I don't come across that many baking topics that I could write about....But today I have an interesting little treat for youfrom Apple Pie cafe, which I'm not a big fan of, but it's widely eaten in Japan and it's made out of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shapes. Here in the US it's made using rice flour and water, and these particular ones are filled with mango and lyche jelly.
I would like to mention that 2 weeks ago I went home for 5 days to attend an important conference held in my hometown, Split. It was the European WACS conference. It is the world association of cooks, and you can look it up here to learn more about. I had a lot of fun, met many people, learned many things, and got to enjoy a little bit of time spent home.
Now I have a 5-day Spring break coming up and after that 3 more weeks until the end of my 3rd year and the begining of the Food & Wine Seminar! Italy here I come! :))
Until then, here are some spring tulips for you!
