Kada snovi pređu u stvarnost....22-godišnja Splićanka, upravo diplomirala slastičarstvo na Culinary Institute of America : The Culinary Institute of America
Here it is - the famous Mary Poppins cake. Stacey and I did a great job over the two days - roughly 7 hours. The first day was great and the following day we had a few issues that were successfully resolved , but all in all, it turned out pretty well.
As I already mentioned, the cake themes were Hollywood classics and the cake itself wasn't edible, it was just for the looks. It was convered in fondant, with the addition of gumpaste flowers, that I usually love doing - NOT THIS TIME. So please don't ever ask me to make daisies.
We also had pastillage for our buildings. It is basically gelatine and powdered sugar. Once it's dried, it gets rock hard.
The umbrella and the bird was made out of gumpaste as well as the spoon. If you have seen the movie, it will be a lot easier to understand!
Even though we didn't make it into the top 3, I am very satisfied with the final outcome.
And here are the top three cakes!
