Tea time!
I am proudly introducing a new line of tea's at the Apple Pie bakery cafe!
Oh Gosh, this is such a cliché...Let's reword it.
Here's the new line of tea's at the Apple Pie bakery cafe that they introduced just when I graduated, so it's still new to me. Isn't it pretty?!
It's very unique, I never had tea served this way before. So you have the cup, the cute little tea triangle inside, and a lid that has a small hole which shows only the little leaf :)
Today I had white tea with vanilla and coconut scent. Perfect for the current NY weather!

Halloween may not be here yet, but the spirit definitely is! These beautifully done cupcakes are a product of our Apple Pie bakery Cafe. I absolutely love them, I am sure you will share my thoughts :)

A real photoshoot
It's such an amazing feeling being a professional photographer for just a couple of hours! Since I'm working in the photo studio, every so often I get a task like this and it's a great experience for me.
CIA needs photos for its web site where they include the recipe with a short story and very often a video. This time it was a cinnamon raisin bundt cake and I thurly enjoyed the photoshoot, especially because I had real lighting and professional equipment. This shot was my personal favorite.

Apple picking!
The time of the year is finally here! Do you have any idea how long I was awaiting this??
This time last year I was on my internship in Vienna, now I'm in Hudson Valley picking apples and enjoying them in every possible way! It was a wonderful experience, since I've never done it before.
Back in Split we do get amazing apples, but it's not common for the Mediterranean to have farms like this. I think this was the first time here in NY that I tasted an apple the way it should taste and i couldn't get enough of it. There were different varieties, as you can see on the photo, and it was astonishing trying them all at the same time and noticing how they differentiate in size, texture, color, water content, and crispness.
We got a bag, and while eating as much as we could, we filled it with our favorite varieties and went back to school to make all the amazing apple delicacies. We made everything from Apple pie, apple butter, apple crisp...you name it! The whole CIA could smell it. Heaven!!!

Pike Place Market
Pike Place Market is one of the greatest markets I have ever seen. It was opened in 1907 and it occupies over 9 acres (36,000 m˛). Of course the Market in my hometown Split is my favorite, but this was something very different and the variety of produce is unbelieveable. From fresh fruits, vegetables, and especially fish for which they're known for, there are all kinds of arts and crafts, flowers shops, bakeries, and beautiful cafe's.
If you didn't know, at Pike Place Fish Market where employees throw three-foot salmon and other fish to each other rather than passing them by hand, is truly an experience!
What I liked about this Market is that it's opened each day and vendors offer you to try their products, like this good looking green-haired boy :))
There are also a lot of vendors inside of the Market who sell anything from flowers, different vinegars and oils, crazy colored veggies, and pasta that is flavored with anything you can think of, even chocolate!
Hope you enjoyed this little tour of the Pike Place Market and it's a must if you're in the area!

The space dinner!
I shared a couple of my favorite experiences from San Francisco, and now I'd like to show you what Washington State was like, where I visited my best friend Stacey! It's literally a green state, last time I've seen something like that was Scotland. Even though I stayed in a small town of Bellingham, right to the Canadian border, I visited Seatlle and absolutely loved it!
And I had a big, big surprise...Stacey took me out to dinner, I was beyond speechless. See that big, tall thing up there? That's right. We had dinner at the Space Needle!
The ambiance was beautiful, servece was absolutely amazing and same goes for food. Aaaaand, that whole floor where the restaurant was, rotated! It takes 43 minutes to do the whole turn and I think we did it twice. Oh, it was stunning, especially watching the sunset.
Let me tell you just a few facts about the Needle itself. It it was built for the 1962 World's Fair or the the Century 21 Exposition/Expo and nearly ten million people attended the fair. It influences the development of several aspects of society including art and design education, international trade and relations, and even tourism.
The Needle is 605 feet (184 m) high and 138 feet (42 m) wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons and it is built to withstand winds of up to 200 mph (320 km/h) and earthquakes up to 9.5 magnitude.
And I ate there!

Boudin bakery
As many of you may have heard of it, Boudin bakery in San Francisco is one of the most famous bakeries in the area and in general. They are known for their Sourdough bread and the Boudin family that established it in 1849 were from Burgundy, France.
Here are some photos from one of their locations at Fisherman's Wharf and let me tell you...It's huge! There is a cafe and the restaurant (where I had lunch), but I would suggest you to eat at the cafe rather then the restaurant. You can get all kinds of sandwiches with thier signature breads, and go through the full experience. We went to the restaurant, because we wanted a bigger lunch, but I wouldn't go again. So go for the bread! And they have a store as well that sells anything you can think of! Very nice souvenirs I must say, especially if you are a baker...
p.s - I am back to school already and I start my 3rd year/Bachelors tomorrow! ;)
