Reger Exhibitor onslaught despite crisis
The Frankfurt fair is currently warming, not only in the warm sun rays, but also to the exhibitors at the fair grounds. Parallel will take place the small fair Prolight and sound - that radiates the same way.
The Musikmesse and its smaller sister Prolight and sound show from this Wednesday to back new instruments, sheet music, Musiksoft and hardware, effects and electronics. The four-day shows are aimed at trade visitors. The general public has access only on Saturday. 1653 Exhibitors at the Music Fair and 837 have at Prolight and sound better than last year, about 110,000 visitors to their new products.
In the four days are expected to include jazz musician Klaus Doldinger, Dresdner pop group Arctic Circle 18 and harmonica player Michael Shepherd. Rock bands have also announced the gunslinger (Hamburg), Aloha from Hell (Aschaffenburg) and panic (Neumunster) and the Finnish rock quartet Sunrise Avenue.
There are prizes at the fair of course: On the eve of the composer was Jose Antonio Abreu, which is endowed with 15,000 euros in the Frankfurt Music Hall Romans. Abreu has founded in his native Venezuela, "El Sistema," a network of child and youth orchestras and music centers. The undoped German Musical Instrument Prize goes to three instrument makers. The prices are from 1991 each year in two groups given varying production. The largest trade fair for information German school band competition will be held on Saturday between eight groups. The award "Piano Player of the Year" is not awarded this year.
