Eto malo cu prekinut one raznolike postove i napisat jedan standardni bend-post:)
Oni su bend koji sam nedavno "otkrio" nakon sto sam vidio njihovu laganicu na tv-u Seize the day i skinuo sam njihov zadnji album City of evil.

Ugl osnovani su 1999. u Californiji..prvi album, "Sounding the seventh trumpet" je snimljen dok su clanovi benda imali 18 godina. Tada im je zvuk bio metalcore sa punk elementima(najbolje se kuzi u pjesmi "Streets"), nakon njega slijedi album "Waking the fallen" koji zvuci puno melodicnije u odnosu na njihov prvijenac, dakle puno vise clean-vokala. I njihov aktualni album tj zadnji je izdan 2005. a zove se "City of evil".



Na njihovom zadnjem albumu i opcenito na live nastupima Mr.Shadows je promijenio svoj stil pjevanja-uopce vise ne screama cak ni kad izvodi pjesme s prva 2 albuma..ugl to je vjerojatno radi operacije grla koju je imao no on tvrdi da se htio okrenuti melodicnijem stilu.



Ime benda je povezano sa pricom o Kainu i Abelu iz Biblije..te takoder par pjesama poput Chapter four, Beast and the harlot imaju vezu sa pricama o Adamu i Evi itd..no usporedno tim, clanovi benda tvrde da nisu nimalo religiozni i Mr.Shadows je izjavio u intervjuu da su oni tu da zabavljaju i ne bave politickim ili religioznim pitanjima. Mr.Shadows ima odlicne vokalne sposobnosti i jos kad se na live nastupima pridruze Syn, Zacky a nekad i TheRev to odlicno zvuci.

Eto, njihovo "otkrice" mi je unijelo malo osvjezenja u moju glazbenu kolekciju..znam da izgledaju dost kicasto i fensi al glazba im je odlicna i raznovrsna..od laganih i opustajucih Seize the day i Warmness on the soul do metal-cudovista od 6 i vise minuta:)
I da to im je po meni jedna od vecih mana sto im dosta pjesama traje od 5min pa navise..to nakon nekog vremena postane naporno al i vidi se da im ideja ne nedostaje.

Posto se nemrem sjetit niceg pametnijeg o cem bi pisao evo kopi-pejstat cu neke dijelove iz 2 razlicita intervjua sa Coreyem i Stone Sour-om, pa ak znate engleski, citajte..jer nije mi se dalo prevodit:)

What’s the difference between Slipknot and Stone Sour?
There’s a huge difference. Slipknot is the darkness, Stone Sour is the light. Slipknot is chaos, Stone Sour is structure. I contribute more musically to Stone Sour and express myself differently. It’s more about myself and what I’ve gone through. Slipknot’s scream therapy, Stone Sour is more about communing and about what ties us together, rather than what tears us apart. People get to see how much I enjoy this band because I’m behind a grimacing ugly mask in Slipknot.


There was a rumour you died in 2004. How widespread was it?
Dude, that was crazy. It wasn’t the first time. I guess there have been about seven rumours I died but that one was the worst. There were people writing obituaries on the Internet. I was like: ‘Are you f***ing kidding me? I’ve got a show tomorrow.’ It got so bad that we were having a birthday party for my son and the neighbours saw a lot of cars parked around my house and they called the newspaper and said that it was my wake. The paper sent a reporter to the house to pass on their condolences. I was inside cutting the birthday cake and ran out on to the lawn and screamed to the neighbours: ‘I’m not f***ing dead.’ It was ridiculous.

Do you have a motto?
Yeah. Do what you do and mean it every second of the day. If you don’t, you’re living someone else’s life.

What would it take to split Stone Sour up again?
"Um... it'd take a lot. Slipknot even couldn't really break this band up."
What would the rest of you guys do if Corey said he was quitting Stone Sour for Slipknot?
"Absolutely fucking thrilled," deadpans Jim.
"I would just kick the shit out of him," states Shawn, emphatically. "I'd take what I learned from Amy Lee."
Josh stares silently at the floor.
"I'd honestly flip that, before I said anything about this band," refutes Corey.
OK, what if Corey quit Slipknot for Stone Sour?
"They'd slit his throat," Chuckles Jim.
"There's really not much they can say," insist Corey.
"We've kind of been bandying it about anyway. The history of Slipknot's a little shorter than a lot of peoplewould like. If it's too much of a fuckin' pain in the ass then it's fuckin' bullshit!"
"It's a GREAT time for this band," Corey shouts again, his crotch towel clinging on for dear modesty. "The future's really fuckin' wide open. It's given us the courage to step out and go, you know what, fuck you. We're a real band with a real fuckin'....a real future."

"Slipknot is just so chaotic," Jim tells me, after the show. "You're talking about nine different guys, nine different egos, nine different personalities. Lets face it, we're not the closest people to each other in the world. When im touring with Slipknot I talk to Josh and Shawn an everyboy constantly. When I'm on tour with Stone Sour I don't really talk to the guys in Slipknot. When I'm at home i fucking miss these guys!"

"I'll be honest," Corey says. "Every piece of music that I write is for Stone Sour. I mean, straight up."
There's a grey area though, because some of you are in another band. How do you decide what is a Stone Sour song and what is a Slipknot song?
"I don't really see anything we do as being Slipknot-esque. This band.. you know, I can remember forming this band in my grandmother's basement. This goes back a long time. This is really a labour of love that's finally getting its due."

Eto...Stone Sour mi je mozda postao cak i blizi od Slipknota jer ima stvarno raznovrsnih pjesama dok je Slipknot intenzivan i zestok od pocetka do kraja..dobro mozda pretjerujem:)).. Stone Sour je u velikom naletu te je izasao iz sjene Slipknota i postao respektabilan bend..
