  • (Wheel covers) The first Cadillac wheel covers were introduced in 1932;  it is rumored that chauffeurs and owners alike were getting tired of cleaning spoked wheels!

Use a bigger hammer





Using ring clamps, remove the internal ring clip which holds the seal in place. Using a screw driver or punch pin, carefully remove the seal by hitting it with a heavy hammer. You may only need to tap it to remove it. Don't do what I did and use a rubber mallet, you'll get nowhere. Take care not to scratch the side walls of where the seal sits. Clean all surfaces and remove any gasket maker material on the mating surface of the cover.
